This definitely has me a lot more interested than I was when I thought it was just another direct adaptation of the comic.
They've announced at least some of the cast, Regina King will be the lead, and it'll also star Don Johnson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens, and Andrew Howard.
It'll directed by Nicole Kassell, who previously worked with Damon Lindelof on The Leftovers, and Lindelof will be the showrunner.

I only saw the movie once, and haven't read the comic, so I don't know from that how it relates to the original story, but coming in fairly blank, it does look interesting.

As someone who largely loathed the comic and, unsurprisingly, the movie, this looks like it could have potential. I'm willing to give it a try.
