If it's of any interest, I've been doing 55 Years Ago This Week posts in The Classic/Retro Pop Culture Thread, mainly focusing on the music with some news items. The Beatles made their historic first Sullivan appearance 55 years ago tonight!
And I've been watching a bunch of TV shows--including Trek--in 50th anniversary sync (also covered in that thread). I thought I was the only one crazy enough to do something like that!
ETA: If you wanna see more of Frank Overton, he was a regular on 12 O'Clock High, which started in Fall of '64. (And Robert Lansing was the lead in Season 1.)

Tonight's entry (actually from day after tomorrow) is Malachi Throne in Combat! -- did you know that before he was an Admiral, he was a Private in WW2 France?
In "The Menagerie" he was a Commodore.
You are, of course, correct. But they probably made him a Rear Admiral Lower Half a few years later...
Wasn't our Sal in two episodes of The Outer Limits? The Human Factor was another show she did as well!
