Watching Star Trek for the first time (again)

Here's a nifty one: George Takei on Twilight Zone! (May 1st episode, "The Encounter")

Is that the one where he crashed through the window pane to his doom for no reason at the end of the episode? I always thought that was rather bizarre.

Sure is! That scene is a big reason the show never aired in reruns.

Oh, me too, all day long as to the cold anyway. Snow is great; rain is very good. :)

Like most kids I loved the summer but for the last forty years it has been a time of intense pain! The heat bleaches my clothes, gives me headaches, burns my skin, I can't sleep at night and it brings out the weirdos who seem to hibernate in the winter! The heat shouldn't be this bad, it's the pollution from the cars and factories that have attributed to this hell and it's very annoying when people go on about how they are enjoying this weather! The cold and rain gives me peace and I love the sound of hail on my roof late at night! :techman:

100% with you, JB. And you may not know how refreshing it is to see a good poster on a message board casually acknowledge the pollution-heat link!

This looks as if it could be a black-and-white still from City on the Edge of Forever. It almost looks like the same basement set.

I am greatly enjoying your retrospective.

Good call! It does look very much the same! Nice catch.

And me too on the enjoying. This is a nice thread.

Sorry about the hiatus -- it's been summer reruns at the Journey so a lot of repeats. But I missed this excellent two-fer from "The Magic Shop", an episode of the Alfred Hitchock Hour that aired January 10, 1964. David Opatoshu (A Taste of Armageddon) and John Megna (Miri) in a rather lackluster knockoff of The Twilight Zone's "It's a Good Life". But it features Leslie Nielsen!

Thank you. Because of that I just read all about John Megna, who was apparently a great guy. Taught high school English in the Los Angeles area after he stopped acting, and sadly passed away in 1995 at 42. Here's a nice blog page about him with comments at the end collected from people who knew him personally.
