You know, with the sheer number of Star Trek episodes and movies in existence, watching each and every one of them is no easy feat. But I've nearly done it. In my 13 years as a Star Trek fan (started watching in 94 at the age of 12, and I'm 25 now), I've managed to see all of TOS, all of TNG, nearly all of DS9 (except for 'Valiant'), all of ENT (except for the infamous 'These Are The Voyages' which I'm yet to see
) and all of VOY except for 'Repentance', 'Destiny' and 'Nemesis'.
I dug out my VOY s4 DVDs for the first time in a while yesterday, and watched 'Nemesis' for the first time. I quite liked it. For once, the producers attempted something interesting with the aliens language. They spoke in colloquialisms that were alien, but still comprehensible enough (do you fathom the Krady beast, defender?)
The plot about brainwashing and propaganda was quite interesting, too. It was like a 'Nam movie with Chakotay in it. The only letdown for me was that the budget constraints meant we only had a weak ground battle, in which the soldiers were just firing into the 'trunks' at offscreen foes. Star Trek doesn't often do ground battles very well, IMO.
What did people think of this ep?
