Was Troi hot?

Yeah, and since starting to watch "Star Trek", I realized that Majel changed her naturally blue eyes, but I guess Troi's never looked artificial enough for me to realize that, even when comparing them to how she looked in "First Contact". That's a pretty lazy way to distinguish an alien species. And I thought the Bajoran nose ridges were lazy! :p

Look around the web for pics of Marina in other appearances. Her eyes are hazel (I think?). Much prettier than the dead black orbs she wears as Troi.

Was Troi "Hot"?

Let's put it this way, "On a scale of one to ten, I'd give her one!"

I'll tell you what the problem is; we're all looking at Marina trussed up in clothes of a futuristic version of 80's and 90's fashion. Now, I'm sure all of us here old enough to remember the 80's and/or the 90's, will tell you, women's clothing wasn't exactly appealing. (Man, that sentence just felt wrong...I'm only 30!)

Have you ever seen Marina out of the costumes, and in regular clothes? Trust me...She may be in her mid-50's, but she's only woman of that age group that I would actually consider...you know!

Now, here's a burning question for you; Which do you prefer? Marina, pre-boob job, or post-boob job?

She's an attractive woman, but oddly enough, I didn't see her as "hot". I often times feel like I should have, but I didn't. She was hot on one occasion though. It was when she wore the skirt uniform in "Encounter at Farpoint". The legs and the kinky hair brought out some of her sexiness.

The hottest woman ever on trek would be the helms woman from the Voyager pilot, the one who was killed.
Yeah, Lt. Stadi. She'd definately be at the top of my list. Like Troi, she was attractive, but at the same time, she had a confidence and energy that made her sexy.

Maybe that's what Troi was missing, a slightly more aggressive sexual energy.

By the way, in case anyone didn't know, Lt. Stadi was played by Alicia Coppola, who was a regular on Jericho.

I have to admit she never really bowled me over. Not that there is anything actually wrong with her looks; she's just not close enough to my particular "type" to merit "hottie" status. ;)

It didn't help that her character was given some of the worst lines of dialog in the entire history of The Franchise to spout. TPTB often saddled her character with such a smarmy, 80s, "I'm okay you're okay" pop-psychology vibe that I often found her somewhat...icky.

Yes, they were. But less so than the Trill spots...

Now the pointy ears? That we could discuss when it comes to Vulcans/TOS Romulans... but with Ocampa - how lazy was that?

Wow, I'm learning a lot about Troi in this thread, unless the boob thing is a myth. Where did you hear she got a boob job? Any idea when? Was it during the series? And I agree that her lame 'counselling' definitely diminished her sex appeal.

It wasn't that far back. It was post-Nemesis.

Have a look at Enterprise's "These Are The Voyages..." - that's when it really shows, so to speak.

That's another good link.

Let's put it this way, after most boob jobs, you think to yourself, "Ugh! Why don't they leave them alone?" - in her case, they work wonders...I've seen those puppies up close, and that ain't no wonderbra holding them in place!

Wow, what a way to bring the topic to the gutter...talking about Sirtis' breast size...

...not that I'm complaining!

I think her earlier looks are incredible especially the purple and maroon outfits. Her dark looks with wavy thick hair and her soft white skin and youthful appearance make her gorgeous to look at. What makes her sexy are the looks combined with her nice manner, politeness, smile, accent, and intelligence. She's very classy.

She looks good in others as well, but not as good. I don't understand the whole uniform fetish some of you have.

I guess she's just my type and it takes a particular person to really appreciate her. For me, for example, Ryan doesn't do anything. As character and out of make up, big boobs, so what?

Marina Sirtis was a Hollywood natural to be hired to play Deanna Troi. She looks perfect for the part, and that's part of the problem. The Great Goddenberry's sexist legacy lived on long after he died through Sirtis as Troi, the first in a line of Berman-era D-cupped young women in tights. If that kind of thing tickles your fancy, then yes, she's "hot". It has limited appeal for me.

I'm not quite sure your analysis totally holds up there, Wingsley.

No offense to the following ladies but I'd hardly qualify any of the following as 'hot' and more just 'attractive':

Crosby
McFadden
Visitor
DeBoer
Mulgrew
Dawson
Park

The 'hotties', so to say:

Sirtis
Farrell
Ryan
Blalock

There was usually only one per series with a bunch of more 'just attractive' types to round things out.

Move McFadden into the hottie list and you are dead on.

Sirtis is an obvious B-movie sexpot. If you like Greek girls with somewhat voluptuous figures (natural, that is), then Sirtis is the ticket. She looks like a lot of fun to spend time with.
Very true.

I also think Roxanne Dawson is a hottie, just not as a klingon. She is almost unrecognisable when she isn't made up asB'Elanna

That's funny I always found her more attractive in the make up. She looks very different without it, much more fragile and subdued.

The images I've seen posted or linked to in this thread do not prove anything to me regarding Marina Sirtis' breasts. "Boob job"? So far, I see no evidence of that. The "These Are the Voyages..." image makes her look like she put on weight, not like she's carrying around implants. "These Are the Voyages..." was a complete disaster when it came to the "flash forward" scenes involving TNG characters. Sirtis and Frakes didn't look like they did during "The Pegasus"; both were too heavy. Sirtis' hair wasn't even the same.

The Celebrity Sweater Puppies' pervert-blog link (oh, lordy!) provided earlier in this thread shows she got her weight back under control. And they certainly didn't have that unusually perky look you'd expect of implants. They look "real" to my untrained eye, but that's just me.

She was -- and is -- an exceptionally good-looking lady. Still, the straight hair thing isn't kind to her. Again, just my opinion, but I think she looked better with big-hair. TNG was always a great showcase for '80's hair.

As for the list being circulated in recent posts in this thread: the list misses the point. It doesn't matter what the ratio of cat-suited actresses was to non-cat-suited actresses was. The important note is that every Bermanian series had a major cast member (at some point) wearing a T & A cat-suit (or something conspicuously similar).

Consider:

TNG - Troi
DS9 - Kira, Leeta
VOY - Seven of Nine
ENT - T'Pol

(To be fair, the DS9/VOY/ENT uniforms were much more dignified on female cast members, but the women still wearing the catsuits were all the more conspicuous.)

I believe her eyes are more of a green, though with those colors a lot depends on the lighting.

Um, Martina Sirtis has been quite candid on the fact that she HAS had a boob job. People aren't being derogatory, it's just a fact, a fact she has confirmed.
