Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a fight?

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

There's also a S1 episode where Data like, dodges a laser drill, repeatedly, just be being really fast.

Robau could totally take him, however.

Then again we don't have relative strength tables as an RPG would give us.

But we have the Star Trek card game.

Data has 12 Strength.

And these guys could handle him in a fight.

I don't know the answer to this, but I've got two observations:

1. Praxius's avatar made me literally laugh out loud. Thanks.

2. "Holy biological bipeds!" sounds like something from the 1960s Batman TV show.

Short answer.... no, but I'd be interested to see what a BlueGill Neural Parasite could do, if it were in Gorn or some other tough biological. We only got to see how strong it made a geriatric human admiral

Where to see Data's speed? I always thought he was slow?
He was pretty fast putting those isolinear chips back in place. Imagine if instead, he was yanking at parts of a body

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

He's definately stronger than any biological being meaning he could defeat humans, klingons, vulcans (even if they are three times stronger than humans!) etc...

The only thing that would pose a threat to him physcially would be another machine and I think he'd have equal strength to another android such as Lore or his daughter Lal.

As others have pointed out, the only way he's been physically defeated is through strategy such as grabbing his leg from behind, that's not to do with strength.

I do think that TNG could have made more use of Data's strength though, there were plently of episodes where i wondered why he didn't just use his superhuman speed and strength to get out of a situation! Maybe his ethical programme had something to do with it though and also the scriptwriters wanting to make his strenth and abilities seem more mysterious like they did with Spock (hence the vulcan nerve pinch instead of knocking somebody out with brute force).

Also because Data was portrayed as rather naive and innocent so to have him always beating the crap out of people would have made him seem too macho and sadistic. I'm not saying he's "gay" though as people are fond of claiming.....he's more attractive as he is actually, I prefer mysterious stength. But that's just my opinion =D

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

In that baseball episode, Sisko said that the Vulcans had an advantage over everyone except Worf.

That was a goof or just something not to make Worf angry :scream:

Seriously, with all the Star Trek stuff I've seen on my side I'd say that an ordinary Klingon is less dangerous than they look like. Humans are in the same "strength class", so to say. Take also in account that the Klingons usually train fighting so their performance is even more embarrassing.

For some reasons, Romulans also appeared much weaker than Vulcans... And about the Nausicaans... Picard owned them pretty well in "Tapestry".

I've never seen a human lift a grown man by his neck with 1 arm with as much ease as a Klingon shows, like Kruge with Kirk, and Worf twice in DS9.

They ouclass humans pretty easily in raw strength from what we've been shown. Most seem to not know how to use it, though. :)

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

Yeah I don't see any flesh and blood taking Data without an energy weapon or some serious planning to throw the match.

I did think it was a bit ridiculous to see humans beating up Klingons and Jem Hadar so frequently, especially in DS9. I have a hard time believing that even Klingons would be a match for an engineered warrior biped like the Jem Hadar. I don't care how amazing a boxer/fighter that Sisko may be, come on. :)

Worf vs. Jem Hadar is perhaps more believable because he became progressively more and more serious about training and fighting discipline. But still, the Jem Hadar have little else to do besides kill (incl each other) and learn how to do it very well.

But still not a problem for Data, methinks.

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

He couldn't have taken him and physical combat, perhaps, but could Kirk have talked Data to death? He did it to a multi-tronic computer--why not a positronic one?
