Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a fight?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
Okay, so I'm slowly going through the show and there hasn't been anything that could take on Data in a physical confrontation? Was there anything biological that was displayed on the show? The only thing I could think of that would pose a problem would be a 'Gorn'.

Is there anything else that's similar to humans, like Cardassians, Klingons etc?

Minus weapons, I don't think so. Jem'Hadar? Nausicans?
Data was basically super-hero strong. Then again we don't have relative strength tables as an RPG would give us. It's hard to say how strong a Klingon was compared to a Vulcan, etc.

Picard was able to beat up several Klingons and Vulcans are three times stronger than Humans.

Right. I'd guess by that Vulcans are actually stronger than Klingons.
A Vulcan/Romulan, given their strength and precision, might be able to get a lucky shot in on Data. But I still think the onscreen canon probably favors Data.

In that baseball episode, Sisko said that the Vulcans had an advantage over everyone except Worf.

In The Measure of a Man, Picard tries to object to Riker's demonstration of Data's strength by saying that there are other species with mega strength (or words to that affect).

The Salt Vampire was badass. It handled Spock with ease.

I don't know whether Borg are considered biological in this case, but they've been able to handle Data.

Data was strong, but he also seemed fragile, he always seemed to be getting his head ripped off, his arms ripped off, his skin ripped off.

Not one on one they couldn't.... they had to sneak their hands under a door to trip him and pull him under, or use force fields to contain him.

Every time a Borg went hand to hand with him, they ended up broken and crumpled in a corner..... crushed like poo'ny grape under his wrath..... he snapped off Locutus' arm, he grabbed that borg when lore was sending him emotions, picked him up, tossed him and then threw him into a wall, breaking his neck..... and in First Contact, none of the Borg were getting close to his group because he was snapping them all over his knee single handed, breaking their necks.... taking one borg and body slamming them into a group of other borgs.... Picard and the rest of the crew didn't need weapons.... they just had to send in Data to clear them all out...... they were his play thing before they grabbed him from under a door by the feet, constrained him, gave him flesh and screwed with his mind...... I don't call that one on one hand to hand combat.

Simple Answer: Chuck Norris.

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

Scarrans from Farscape could take him.

Sorry, that's cheating. :) Maybe a Gorn...although in that slightly lame Gorn Civil War TNG comic, Data handled one with ease.

I was gonna say 8472, but that's a triped...biological, though, and I'd bet they could take Data on no problem.

Oh, and maybe Wolverine. :)

Re: Was there ever a biological biped that could handle Data in a figh

I doubt a Gorn could.... in Memory Alpha, while they state they're much more powerful then a human and just as intelligent as a human, they're slower.... while data is much much faster...... before the Gorn could grab him, Data would have already pulled out his organs and stomped on them with a twist.

And the genetically enhanced Julian Bashir.

But, it seems to me that durin' Sisko's pep talk, he realized he goofed up by sayin' the Vulcan team would be bad ass, and then tried to lift his team's spirits.

:vulcan:

^Have you seen TNG's Conspiracy,Clues, Brothers and Descent Part One? Granted what we saw in Conspiracy wouldn't help Data in a fight, but we could see that he had lighting speed reflexes in the last two, and Worf said that Data could take him in Clues.
