I don't really care about her age. I just wish she'd been more "Vulcan". She was too emotional, and bratty.
T'Pau did have a lot of Heart and Soul.

I get it.T'Pau did have a lot of Heart and Soul.
The wiki says differently:T'Pau is only 32 in season four of Enterprise.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T'Pol#BiographyIn Season 3 episode 24 "Zero Hour" she tells Trip that she is not old - she will only be 66 years old on her next birthday. T'Pol was born in 2088 or 2089 (as is measured on earth, making her 62 or 63 years old at "Broken Bow").
T'Pau not T'Pol
T'Pau not T'Pol
My post, which JWPlatt quoted, was clearly about T'Pau. I don't even mention T'Pol.Both were in the episode.
Ah. Yep.T'Pau not T'Pol

I agree. It's odd, as they pretty much got it right the rest of the time (except Soval started off maybe too emotional). It makes a strong contrast with earlier season 4 ep Home, where the Vulcans were properly repressed emotionally. I noticed that T'Pol's mother also seemed more emotional during the Vulcan episode. It's just weird that they apparently forgot what Vulcans are like apart from the ears.I think that was something of a problem with all the Vulcans in that trilogy (especially when you compare it to someone like Gary Graham as Soval, who I really think got it right), though it's still not as awkward as the character of V'Las constantly alternating between smirking and losing his temper.
You certainly have a thing for Vulcans, Yanks!![]()
Maybe he's enviousI think it's the pointed ears.![]()
I don't think they did a very good job.
Earth years or Vulcan years?she tells Trip that she is not old - she will only be 66 years old on her next birthday
Wasn't this was before the majority of the Vulcan population adopted the philosophy of Surak? It's just weird that they apparently forgot what Vulcans are like apart from the ears.
I think both actors were fine. Especially the guy that played Surak
nice effort at such a concept, younger and older versions of a single character played by different actors was having June and Anne Lockhart along with Jose and Miguel Ferrer as older/younger characters in an episode of Magnum P.I.
I think the one that played Surak came of as very self confident and wise.I am not questioning that.

They had a warped version of Surak's teaching which emphasised denial of emotions rather than understanding and controlling.Wasn't this was before the majority of the Vulcan population adopted the philosophy of Surak?

Who would've ever guessed that the stately T'Pau we met in "Amok Time" was a cute pixie, when her flower was in bloom? Fiona Lincke wasn't playing Celia Lovsky, but you'd think some effort would've been made to find an actress who looked vaguely related, at least! Fiona should've played a Vulcan Princess on ENT, but she does seems somewhat miscast in the role of T'Pau, in looks and performance. That was quite a metamorphosis she made over a century and a half ... completely unrecognisable, in every way! An old flame of hers who hadn't seen her in 80 years would've been like, "holy Shat, I would've never known it was you!"
