Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

Completely off topic, but this addresses pretty much all the arguments of fanboys everywhere:

I think the fanboy actually says "in the comic, he's six feet two-ten"?

EDIT: Okay, this also addresses many conversations we have in these threads:

Ok, so he is going to do his research. But obviously a newb since nothing has been read yet. Does he have time to direct the movie and make sense of all this?
The Flash movie doesn't come out until 2018. He has plenty of time to learn and draw his own inspiration from the sources.

Plus you know superhero comics aren't Crime and Punishment - the stories in the flash wouldn't tax a semi-literate ten year old let alone an actual adult.

Shame on you for perpetuating a deeply outdated and ignorant prejudice. Most comics these days are, in fact, written for older teens and adults. Many of them deal with such intense violence and themes that children probably shouldn't be allowed to read them. If anything, modern comics suffer from not doing enough to cater to younger audiences and win a new generation of fans for the future.

Given your response is nothing to do with my actual post, I've got nothing for you. Plus stick your "shame on you" up your hoop - I'm not talking morality lessons off the guy notorious for writing some of the creepiest sex scenes known to Star Trek fans. Save it for the younger posters who don't know their own minds.

What era?

I grew up with Wally. Johns was great, but the new stuff is so painful and uneven.

Modern comics do get into some pretty intense, deep stuff, so I don't know if I'd got that far.

The bulk of comics are actually written with a more complex narrative tone, message, theme and subtext along with resolutions that can be intense. A good conversation could be about what "level" a comic book is written at but they most certainly aren't targeted at 10yr olds anymore. If for no other reason than 10yr olds don't have $3-4 to spend per issue. The industry is catering to adults who long, long ago grew past silly fare of the 60's with BANG, POW & ZAP.

Director of The Flash posted this on Instagram last night.

^ I didn't recognize any of those people and had to look up his Instagram account for some clues. Apparently it's Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher. Thought it might be Tom Welling but he looked too young

I also had to do some research. None of these faces are commonplace enough for me yet either.
My apologies. I forgot to add Fisher and Miller's names in my original post. Yes, that is the Flash director with the actors for Barry Allen and Victor Stone.

Were they just hanging out casually, or are they already starting to work on The Flash movie?

^^
They're shooting Justice League now. Rick Famuyiwa likely visited the set in London.
The Flash is next in line, so shooting should start this Fall.

'Neon Demon' Director Wants to Make a Batgirl Movie

God, I would love to make one,” says Nicolas Winding Refn about directing a comic book adaptation

“The Neon Demon” director Nicolas Winding Refn would love to adapt a comic book story for the big screen, and would be particularly interested in directing a Batgirl movie.

“God, I would love to make one, it would probably be great fun,” Refn told Business Insider. “I just don’t know when it’s going to happen. I very much enjoy my freedom creatively, but I also would love to make one of those big Hollywood films that costs a lot of money and has a lot of people running around with cell phones and all that insanity.

That's not a sound motivation for wanting to direct a superhero film.

Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman are already taken, so with that, Refn said he would take on Batgirl.

“You know the one I want to do? I want to make Batgirl,” he said. “Let’s get Warner working on it.”

When it was announced that Margot Robbie would star in a Harley Quinn-spin off movie, many outlets also reported that the film would feature multiple female superheroes — and possibly villains — in the DC Comics universe. Beyond Quinn, names considered include Batgirl and Black Canary.

Even with the "Bat" association, I doubt a solo Batgirl movie will go before cameras; perhaps she will turn up in ensemble films, like so many Marvel "B" and "C" list characters do, but headlining a solo film does not sound like a winner, even if the character's been around for 49 years.
