Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

Well, knowing DC Black Adam is actually the hero and "Shazam" will either be like the New 52 comic version (a complete asshole whose first heroic act ended with him shaking down the woman he saved for money) or another dark, gritty murderer like Superman and Batman. So, by that logic it makes sense to make an actual superhero movie out of the property. The original (and one true, regardless of marvel's shitty copyright tricks) Captain Marvel is my favorite hero, but the New 52 comics destroyed him and the movie will probably be worse.

I wish The Rock wasn't involved with this, he's too enjoyable an actor for DC's crap. Hopefully the first movie will bomb so badly it won't get a sequel. then again, if Batman v Superman can turn a profit, then "Shazam", aka Billy the Profiteer, will probably make enough to justify a sequel.

It's been fun reading/listening to all these Live by Night reviews observing that Affleck wears comically huge suits throughout the movie in a fruitless effort to hide over absurdly humongous he (and, by extension, his 1920s character) is. :rommie:
 
Comic Book Resources is reporting that the current Flash script has been tossed out and that King Arthur: Legend of the Sword writer Jody Harold has been brought in to write a new one from scratch.
So now this film has no director and they've just hired their third writer.
I doubt this film is going to make its scheduled 2018 release. I expect Warner Bros. to push the date back.

Lots of films stay in development for years and go through numerous tries before they finally get made. For instance, a Spider-Man movie was in development for a decade or more before Sam Raimi made it work. For a while, James Cameron was going to make a rather weird and creepy version where Electro and Sandman would've been the villains (which is why the '90s animated series had to avoid those characters).

The only reason this seems like more of a problem now is because DC rushed into announcing a whole slate of films and premiere dates before they were really ready, and so it's this whole interlinked continuity and that makes it more disruptive to postpone a release date.
 
She was previously rumored for the role of Hippolyta.

So if this doesn't work out... Nora Allen next? ;)
 
The Walking Dead and Supernatural's Lauren Cohan already played Martha in the flashback in BvS, so I'm assuming they would just bring her back if she appeared again.
 
Yeah, that's probably what will happen. Still, I think replacing her with Diane Lane would be hilarious. The could also "Lucas" it and make sure that Thomas Wayne yells "Martha" as he dies, all as one big tie in to batman v Superman :lol:
