Wanna see the transporter?

Is is just me or in that "Warning" poster does Karl Urban have the look and vibe of DeForrest Kelley/McCoy???

Hmmm, like in the old cartoons, or maybe a Terry Gilliam animation -- the Enterprise takes a fatal hit, you see a network of cracks forming until it crumbles into tiny bits and falls downward off the bottom of the screen.

and then it sweeps itself up with a broom and pan and dumps itself into the trash.

I don't get the swirling effect. It's like they're in a molecular blender.

When you think about what the transporter does, they sort of are.

Not bad!

It looks better than I was expecting it to, given all the drastic changes to the rest of the classic Enterprise by Abrams and his design team. I must say, this is my favorite part of the ship so far.

Cool. They added some detail to make it look better on the big screen, but fundamentally, it's still a stage with circular lights above and below.

The transporter essentially kills the person though instant dematerialization, then rematerializes them in another location in the exact state they were in just prior to being killed... so in effect, bypassing their memory of having been killed (the few fractions of a second where the person feels themselves being ripped apart).

It's a temporary death chamber. A life and death blender. No wonder why McCoy never liked using it! ;)

Hmmm, let's see....

Yup, looks a million times better than the original. In fact, scratch that - there isn't really a numerical figure I can use to tell you how much better the new one is.

 I love the ''No Placing Flies On Transporter'' & ''No Sex'':guffaw:WOW! can you imagine how THAT would look after being transported? The cupple doing it would be nothing but arms ''n'' legs all dangling about! ( to get an idea what I mean look for WATCHMEN#6 and go to the last cupple of pages of that issue)

And is it just me? or does this transporter room look ''LARGER''? By tha By, I am looving this Nu transporter:drool:!:techman: Thumbs up!

Transporter Room = Good.

And honestly, MUST it be compared to a production design that's forty-three years old on a miniscule (by comparison) budget and then have the obviously disadvantaged set be insinuated to be crap? It's getting a little tiresome. With 150 million f'ing dollars, I hope to hell it looks better.

I'll be thrilled if they have a variation of the old transporter sound effect. Seems like good odds given they've apparently kept the old red alert sound.
