And probably not a coincidence that the end of the 90's (literally 1999) was the year Wanda and Pietro were orphaned. Of course her mind is going to latch onto that inter-decade period rather than the early to mid 90's.

Also keep in mind the notion that it's likely she mostly only saw old US shows growing up because that's what they got in Sokovia in the 90's, it would make sense for her to not have much if any awareness of what was current back then, hence the gap.

As fun as a 2 Broke Girls parody would be, I doubt we'll get one.
In the last few trailers they've shown a clip of Wanda talking to the camera like she's being interviewed, so I'm pretty sure we'll be getting Modern Family next.

I can't really see them going that route since the whole reason they changed it in the comics was to make them fit their MCU counterparts better.

They changed it in the comics because the guy in charge at the time was trying to push out any X-Men references. The vast majority of MCU changes are not applied to the comics, there is no reason that they'd change the parentage just because the films did it when there is so much else that wasn't changed. Plus, the MCU only didn't connect them because they couldn't, not because they necessarily didn't want to. Now the MCU can make their parents whomever they want, and making Magneto their Dad would create an instant connection to familiar MCU stuff for people when Magneto inevitably shows up in the MCU.

That doesn't mean that he will be revealed as their Dad, but its certainly plausible, at least in my opinion.

Marvel was pissed that FOX was holding on to the Fantastic Four for longer than expected, so they started a war of attrition that included the cancellation of the Fantastic four for many, many years.

What happened with Wanda and Pietro was part of that war.

While I would like for Magneto to be the father, the producers could leave it ambiguous and maybe mention The Whizzer and Miss America as Wanda and Pietro's parents.

The only 10s sitcoms I have see are Big Bang Theory and New Girl (go figure). Not sure how either can translate to WandaVision

We have now gotten into the realm wwhere I have very little knowledge of broadcast TV. I moved into a very rural area beyond the range of the antennas and only watched DVDs or specific streamed content.

Every new WandaVision episode is now laying out major elements of what has been going on, when this is all done I plan on rewatching it from the beginning to see how knowing the big picture alters each episode

Ron Howard has a good working relationship with Disney through Lucasfilm. I would love to see him do an Arrested Development style narration.

I honestly think after the 90s it gets much hard to find sitcoms that are cultural touchstones that everyone knows. Some of the 50s sitcoms that they referenced may be too old for younger to understand. But they were huge when first aired and stayed so through reruns for decades. They may have faded but it took a long time. With as many tv options in the 21st Century not much stays in the public awareness for long. Now there are dozens of shows that are “ the greatest of all time” while on the air. But often each show has little awareness outside a show’s devoted fan base and professional critics. Hard to imagine what current series will be iconic in 20 or 30 years.

That would be tragic as The Whizzer is dead in the MCU.

I actually stopped watching the show after two episodes when i realized that WandaVision is about a woman dreaming about a relationship with her metallic sex doll.
