Spoilers WandaVision discussion thread

Yep. If anything, I find often times streaming shows that have their episodes run 50 minutes to an hour (or even longer) are only doing so because they know they are not being limited to the forty minutes necessitated to fit in the one hour time slot on network or cable TV, rather than feeling they need the extra time to tell the story. The fact that this show as well as other Disney+ shows like The Mandalorian are able to tell the story they want to in thirty minutes is really quite refreshing.

The last episode is 41 minutes, which is actually about average for hour long show on network and cable TV.
IGN released their "MCU cannon fodder" videos about last week's episode this weekend, and they talked about how one theory going around is that Evan Peters isn't actually playing Pietro, but is Mephisto pretending to be Pietro, and that gave me a thought. What if he's Mephisto pretending to be Pietro, but since he's from outside of all of the other realities, he accidently showed up as the wrong one. So this would establish that the X-Men movie universe is part of the MCU's multiverse, but doesn't necessarily drop mutants into the MCU yet.

I read an interview with Kevin Fergie and the producers where they said that the first three episodes were the traditional 30 minute sitcom length to reflect Wanda's state of mind; while subsequent episodes will vary in length as needed and also serve as an indication of Wanda's unraveling mental state.

A theory about Vision...
So in Infinity War, they made a big deal how Vision is not just the stone in his head but possibly much more. They tried to remove the stone safely, ran out of time = one dead Vision corpse. So then Wanda steals said corpse and brings him to Westview and revives him. He definitely doesn’t have the stone in his head, he’s most definitely a corpse... but a corpse with Visions personality, but not his memory....
So remember when Shuri was trying to take out the stone but realized she ran out of time? Well, in those last few moments she did something in a quick hurry... what if she pushed Visions personality ourtside the stone and into some secondary buffer? She couldn’t do anything about his memory, but his personality, his soul was saved. That opens up the door for Vision to be revived, possibly without his memories... Maybe..

Only issue with Vision still being alive is how to do they address that in the next Doctor Strange movie and why Wanda is in it and also I guess the Spiderman one as well.

If Vision does in fact survive past the end of WandaVision, which we still don't know for sure will happen, they'll probably just put in a quick line about how Wanda brought him back to life, if they even address it at all. They've already had to deal with status quo changes from a movie in one series affecting another series, such as the fall of S.H.E.I.L.D. and introduction of Hydra in Captain America: The Winter Soldier effecting the Avengers movies, so I don't really see where this would be any different.

Less than a month of WandaVision left... time to cancel/stop Disney+ re-upping on March 7, two days after the finale! :p

(I'll subscribe again once I can fit all of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier into a month's viewing.)

If you don’t want to pay for Disney+, there are easier ways...

I'd do that too, but if I did, my 8 year old daughter would put my hand in a bucket of water while I slept as punishment.

That doesn't actually do what people think it does. They tried it on Mythbusters and it didn't work.
Marvel posted a short interview with showrunner Jac Shaeffer about Evan Peters showing up as Pietro, and there was absolutely no mention of him playing the character in the X-Men movies. I'm not sure if it's significant, but I thought it was at least noteworthy.
The closest she came is mentioning several times how complicated it was to get him in the show, which now that I think about it, could mean that there was more to it than just the typical negotiations with an actor.

Think of it this way. If it’s not going to lead to mutants in MCU, then what will?

Not necessarily the episode length in and of itself, but with many of the Mandalorian episodes I have felt kind of ripped off with the short episodes because the story seemed like it should have been expanded and developed more, whereas, with WandaVision, each episode feels like just the right length for the story it sets out to tell.

I admit I'm a bit disappointed that Quicksilver didn't say "I bet you didn't see THAT coming..." when he appeared. I know, different Quicksilver. But for those of us who skipped Fox Marvel films, it would have been nice.

With Wanda and Vision wearing Halloween costumes inspired by their characters comic book look in the next episode, I wonder if we will see Evan Peters in a comic book accurate Quicksilver Halloween costume?

Can you work in to this a King Kong/Godzilla and incest reference in, somehow ;)

With the multiverse coming, they could always pop in on the Ultimate Avengers...

We can dream...
