Spoilers WandaVision discussion thread

I just realized while watching the episode that it's been a full decade (in-universe) since we last saw Darcy, so it was nice to see that she's now a doctor and respected astrophysicist in her own right. I wonder if she'll pop up in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Respected in the scientific community?

It's the government.

She's not on their speed dial because she's good at her job even though she probably is. It's about clearance. She has the security clearance to be put anywhere, no matter how top secret, because Nick Fury and Thor vouched for her.

If Darcy has been working on top secret situations since before graduation, I doubt that Darcy could have published anything, because she'd be bagged and taken to a black site for rendition the moment she tried.

Like how Daniel Jackson disappeared off the map after joining the Stargate program.

30 seconds of footage for what ever episode the Halloween party is in has been leaked, so watch out for spoilers.

Holy Plot Progression

The first two episodes I really wasn't sure about this series. The third episode was better because of the final 10 minutes but I still couldn't get behind the stuff happening with Wanda or Vision. This episode brought me back on board with this series. We finally understand what is going on, but it's still shrouded in mystery that I'm not bored but intrigued with what is going on. Of course this is the best episode of the series, but not only that, It's made me actually excited for the series every week again.

This episode was a nice change of pace, letting us know what's happening. And it's great to see Darcy again. 8/10.

AoS' tangent reality and the first three episode of this series aside, this was the first look we've had of the "real" MCU world since Spider-Man: Far From Home a year and a half ago, and, my gosh, it felt great to be back! Characters from the Thor and Ant-Man films, sharing scenes! And a character from Captain Marvel, too, but we won't hold that against her. I wish we'd gotten some nod to S.H.I.E.L.D., even as a totally defunct organization, but there's plenty of time.

And does the fact that no one suggests contacting the Avengers suggest the group has fully disbanded? Not surprising if so, with Tony and Natasha gone, Cap officially dead, and Clint... facing a whole lot of very serious court cases, one hopes. :p

(I have to admit I kinda chuckled when Rambeau's ID card didn't work at S.W.O.R.D. HQ. Woman, you've been gone for five years, and you expect to just waltz into a top-secret facility with your five-year-old badge?! Come, now!)

I liked this catch up from outside the town much better........things are starting to sync up nicely!

It's 2 weeks since Hulk brought every one back.

They probably just have their phone off the hook.

In the comics old Steve became director of S.H.I. E.L.D. Because his body may have been shit, but his brain was still as keen as ever.

A couple of thoughts:

There is an opening for Chris Evans to return as Captain America that has already been done in recent comics.

I am wondering if Wanda is being set up to be the Big Bad for Phase 4.

One of the Easter eggs is "House of M" written on a wine bottle in French.

Maybe she'll introduce Mutants?

Although, in the comics, I think Quicksilver "built" the House of M by manipulating his sister.

Daddy issues.

Still.

Which actor is going to play Quicksilver?

Evan or Aaron?

This reminds me of the sort of thing they would have done in Buffy in a single episode.

I wonder if that has anything to do out of world with the casting of an actress from the show.

It's pretty obvious now the reason for the sitcoms is that sitcoms represent to people the perfect idyllic stressless life they crave for when their life is difficult, and the formation of this world came from the boring domesticity Wanda wanted with Vision. The only question is what forces are behind it, or if it's just entirely sprung from Wanda's mind.

They've been casting Buffy Alums since the first Avengers movie, thanks to Whedon just knowing good actors who he'd already worked with. James Gunn did the same thing with Nathan Fillion.

Probably it's just that...

...Although I do wish it would turn out that Emma Caufield's character is actually MCU Emma Frost.

Here's a nice BTS article, referencing all the outdoor locations I posted about a few pages back.

LINK

I was mistaken about the gazebo location, but hey.

I have several others mentioning that character and pointing to different Easter eggs which could support this

Master Pandemonium, a lacky of Mephisto, was taking advantage of Wanda's Breakdown in Westcoast Avengers because she had used part of his sold soul to make her twins (circa 1989).

It's kind of fun that we've reached a point in the MCU where people aren't completely freaking out when a somebody turns a whole town into a sitcom. The moment people realized something weird was going they knew exactly what to do and who to call, and S.W.O.R.D. showed and got right to work figuring out what the hell is going on. At this point it's all just another day on the job for most of the people involved.
