Spoilers Walking Dead Season 8 discussion and spoilers.

Rick setting Negan's stupid bat on fire has been my favorite moment of this season so far. And Negan showing such an attachment and devotion to a bat proves just how unhinged he really is.

I'm also willing to bet that most sociopathic dictators delude themselves into believing that their atrocities are justified, and for the greater good. This "I'm saving people" BS of Negan's is wearing thin.

It was pretty good.

I'm also willing to bet that most sociopathic dictators delude themselves into believing that their atrocities are justified, and for the greater good.

As far as TWD goes, various group leaders always believe their abuses are justified: The Governor argued that he was protecting Woodbury's residents from those who were going to "take what we built", the Terminus cannibals believed they were justified in turning the tables on everyone after being abused by invaders, and the Grady Memorial cops thought they were the foundation for the restoration of civilization, and so on. Only the pure nutcases (the Wolves, the Claimers, Randall's gang) , were--at least--honest, since they never used deception or bought into their own excuses for their morally reprehensible actions.

The Walking Dead--
"Do Not Send Us Astray"

Maggie's plan seemed sensible--probably the best defense any of the heroes have put up against the Saviors so far, but her being fueled by revenge could be the seed planted for Lauran Cohan's departure, and I do not mean character death, but Maggie has enough and leaves.

Morgan always in psychological turmoil has to go somewhere, and I do not see his going to FTWD as any remedy, considering how dysfunctional and/or self serving the main characters are on that series.

Henry (Benjamin's brother) is channeling Carl from season 3 big time. Sort of tired of headstrong kids who refuse to listen to common sense from adults. Come on. He has a clear shot of the Saviors without opening the gate. There was no reason for Henry to open it other than a convenient escape for Gregory, Jared (Benjamin's killer) and the series' constant push to make Alden (the Savior always trying prove how different he is) into some sort of badboy turned good. Terrible plotting all around.

With Henry lost in the winds, I suspect he will return as a hostage of any combination of Saviors/Gregory.

Daryl and Tara flip-flopping on Dwight? Add her change to the fact she was cut by one of the tainted weapons and it seems to be teasing her death...and considering how Daryl is back to "Dwight hatin'" mode, will he go full-on moron again? Or, will she be the first to survive infection?

.Aside from that, I appreciated the continuity references to The Governor and Merle.

More distance between Michonne and Rick. As mentioned in another review, I hope this is not leading toward either jumping ship to another relationship. Not after all that was built up over 5 seasons.

Mixed bag episode.

Wow..that was crazy. Looks like Negans original plan worked...but can't wait for Simon to bite it

How many people died on both sides and how many are left?

Well, it looks like the path is now clear for Queen Carol.

I wondered what happened to Ezekiel...glad he is still there

The Saviors need to abandon guns and go to arrows full time, they were about 10x more effective. Other than Rick, the Saviors and our guys are about as good as stormtroopers with the shooting. I think they showed someone firing up into the air at one point.

Remember when one bullet was something to treasure? Now they have so many guns they can't keep track of 'em.

I doubt Henry will ever be as hated as the kid from The Strain but he's making strong strides tonight.

Those spike strips made me realize how useful some IUDs along that drive would be.

I think you mean I *E* D 's.... Some point soon we will need to follow President Roslin's advice

Negan is going to be pissed when he finds our about Hilltop, he already found out about the garbage people from Rick, but once Jadis explains what happened, Trevor....err..I mean Simon won't be alive for long.

So is Tara really infected, or did Dwight graze her with an uninfected arrow? Similar thing happened to Rick in the comics, but with Carl gone I have no idea what the writers have in store, which is a good thing.

Wonder why Darrel didn't shoot some rounds at Simon, and Dwight? Would have alerted Tara, and Darrel would have made a more valuable target.

i was talking with someone on Facebook..but didn't the deaths ocme super fast? i know that people werne't feeling good due to being shot, and there slept through some of it...but they passed away without a fever (it seemed). But i will let it go, as it made for a terrifying internal invasion...something we haven't seen in a while, and shows how people had their guard down with that.

Yeah it's never been consistent in regards to when people turn. Could be minutes, hours, days. Guess it depends on the person's immune system, or how badly they are injured.

That kid opening the gate..and I am guessing he is the one that left the door open to the Hilltop building where everyone was sleeping. I just don't know why he would open the gate since he had a clear shot of everyone in there, just spray some bullets in there to let them know you're not messing around, the little dude is already becoming a Morgan Jr.

I'm betting on uninfected based on Alanna Masterson being on Talking Dead. I think if she was infected they'd wait to have her on in a couple of episodes (I can't imagine the question playing out longer).

Well, we did see several Saviors cut down since the start of this season. You would have to expect that the leadership (Negan and Simon more than others) would be more experienced and able to avoid being an easy target.

He's just stupid, and I doubt any abuse at the hands of the Savior will change the course of his singe-minded pursuit, unless he's convinced to join the Saviors after being convinced Ezekiel and others are the true "killers" of Benjamin for not following the rules. Twisted, but an angry kid could be swayed in that way.

Hopefully Simon is not killed off in any easy way. I want to see Simon fight to take over.

Honestly, Tara needs to go, but now that you've reminded me of the comics, I have the bad feeling Tara will survive.

I'm not sure its a consistency issue, as Dr. Jenner (from the season one finale "TS-19") said reanimation times are very random--from a few minutes up to hours. For example, Andrea's sister (Amy) took hours to turn after being killed by walkers, while Jim was bitten, but succumbed to the bite over the course of what seemed to be an entire 24 hour period by the time he was left to die on the road.

Honestly, I am really puzzeled by this turned by walker blood thing and feel we are in shark jumping territory.

So now TWD is 28 days later?

We have for years seen characters wounded and bloodied and getting zombie guts and gore into their wounds... Seen them deliberately covered in zombie gore and take wounds...

But now suddenly it causes infection. Whatever

Being covered in guts is different than having blood to blood contact...like STD s and other blood Bourne diseases.

Though I agree the turnaround time was super instant

I'm so hoping that Negan does not live to pick strawberries in New Alexandria, but I have a bad feeling that will be exactly what happens. We apparently all have to "find a better way" and honor Carl's vision of a better future, as written in Deanna 2.0's postwar reconstruction binder.

I have a question. Why so much concern over the amount ammo when the show doesn't deal with the fact the entire country would be a toxic wasteland by now because of unmanned nuclear factories and nukes. Or that we still have them eating proccessed food and have gas that hasn't gone bad? The ammo actually is realistic compared to some of the, end of the world stuff that has been ignored.

It bothers me because they made a big plot point around the scarcity of ammunition.
