Voyager in the nuTrek universe

Unless you go to the ridiculous levels of Mirror Universe type coincidence (somehow all of the same characters are together and interacting even though their history is so insanely different:rolleyes:), I don't see any way Voyager would be recognizable in the new timeline.

I don't even think it is likely Voyager would exist at all.

It's just as unbelievable that the same crew would all be on the Enterprise with the same ranks and positions. Yet it happened.

Apparently Trek follows Farscape's time theory: If you get things as close as you can to how they were time will re-align itself to be as close to the prime timeline as it can.

I realize that. The precedent is obviously there. It's just an idea I personally don't really like. For me, despite all of the unbelievable stuff that happens in Trek, there are certain things that stretch things a bit far for my taste. This is just one of them. I realize everybody doesn't feel like that.

I don't agree that the timeline does or even should be working towards realigning itself with the "prime" universe though. Of course what I want and what the Trek stories and universe actually do are two very different things!

Tuvok was born on Vulcanis Lunar Colony. Not Vulcan itself. FWIW.

I thought Vulcan had no moons?

Thought it's perhaps grasping at straws, it could be that that it's a lunar colony of a planet 'Vulcanis' rather than Vulcan, or that it's just one of the first lunar colonies inhabitied by Vulcans, therefore being called 'Vulcanis'?

Perhaps Vulcanis is also where the Vulcans of nuTrek end up? Since it's a colony it could possibly be established in both realities.

I believe Spock Prime even comments on it in the novelization of Trek XI that the timeline is trying to mend itself that's why everyone ended up where they did, but then again I read the ending fast so I may be misremembering. The novel's not canon anyway though.

For instance, so much fanfic has J/C "destined." Would they somehow be together now?

I don't see why not, if the Cardassian situation hadn't gotten to the point it did, Chakotay would still be in Starfleet and he and Kathryn could have crossed paths anyway. I know of one very long novel length fan fic where they don't get into the Delta Quadrant at all, and it's still very J/C.

Could you point me in the direction of these fics?

The one I was talking about is VanHunks' "Strangers When We Meet," it's very angsty, and it is NC-17 so I won't put up the link.

She has a geocities page.

You might want to back that up. Geocities will be closing very soon.

I can't, when Geocities closes the author is going to take down all her fic. I have the story as a word doc, and printed, the printed copy is about 800 pages.

^^
Why not move that fanfic page to another free server, like 110MB.
:techman:

As for Voyager in the nuTrek universe, I must admit that the thought of it gives me a headache. The future is the past and the past is the future. Where is Henry Starling now when we need him? :(

Ah, here I guess:
