Video game widow

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

I have not had the pleasure but I do have some adorable pictures of one with a guitar from Guitar Hero:

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

Oblivion - I got a bit lost in that one too. Fortunately it started to bug up after the main quest, and I lost interest.

I'm actually losing it for video games. I have two supposedly awesome games that I have only played 2 or 3 times, Fable and The Witcher. And a good half dozen others that I just couldn't get into. LOTRO - I leveled a couple characters to level 10 or so, and lost interest, despite the nice visuals and Middle-Earth theme.

CIV4 with Nimoy would probably destroy me, but I don't like the look of the graphic style and have avoided it.

It started a couple years ago. Unless it's really, really good game, I don't have time for it. There's a lot of mediocre out there with nice graphics.

Your husband is probably already limiting himself at 4 hours, lol. Sitting around knitting probably won't help. You need to follow your own interests/talents. Although some planned time/outing together is a good thing, it's not quite fair to complain about one partner's interests, while having none of one's own. Enjoy some free time. And maybe ask for 2 hours gaming on weeknights. Pick a show to watch together, something. Humans love rituals and routines.

No, sadly I don't have my own dog. And those my parents have are much bigger but just as naughty.

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

^Nice, I never thought of that sort of thing! -I think I have my homemade decoration-gift-idea now! -thanx :bolian:

But you forget the other problem, there are about oh 5 good co-op games. Why will no one make more 2 player games?
That's simple: video gamers are lonely boys sitting in their parents basements. :p

Nintendo and their ever increasing bank account disagree with you. :p
This whole thread disagrees with me (just take a look at the OP or indeed the (original) title) the post you quoted is what is widely known as a joke.

You see: I expressed a tired old cliché that no one takes serious and that states the opposite of what is known to be true -and the joke is on whomever originally stated such a thing :p
Whatever happened to all those gravy cookies? Did Holdy eat them all?

I made tons of cookies today, but none of them are made with gravy.
I bought some cookies today -that's a lot easier :) -they didn't have any with gravy though :p

Re: Vide game widow

The only reason I'd ever buy a console is for either its blueray player (PS3) or the ability to play multiplayer games with friends (like on the Wii for example). My computer-gaming days are kind of past me, ever since I installed Linux. I also haven't upgraded my desktop in five years. Ubuntu comes with a rather nice Mahjong game though

Board games, those are cool.

By the way, I didn't recognize you at all. Where's the squirrel? Even a plan I can figure out. A lump of dough on fire just confuses me.

The squirrel is hibernating, but he'll be back once he realizes I used his nuts to make a nutty flavoured pudding..

Re: Vide game widow

Monopoly makes me angry.

God Damn shoe, it cheats every time!
Oh god, who plays monopoly. What a boring game.

I recently played Mwahahaha!, a card game of Mad Scientists and Global Domination. You assume the role of an evil genius who builds a criminal empire and constructs a doomsday device with which to cow a trembling humanity. But you're not the only one with grand machinations. Other players rival you for absolute mastery. He who completes his device first and collects the highest ransom is declared the winner — and ruler of the world!

I thought that'd be up your ally ;)

Re: Vide game widow

Is it kinda like Munchkin? I can understand Munchkin, in fact I always win against my Husband. I'm kinda ruthless when it comes to card games I guess.

My toes are about to fall off thanks to this -10 F weather (with a windchill putting it at -32 F).

I agree. There is a serious lack of good two-player co-op games. I would love to play co-op more often.

Hey!

Some of us are lonely men sitting in our own apartments, thank you very much.

Wait...

:(

No. In Munchkin you acquire items and encounter monsters. In Mwahahaha you acquire tokens (red/green/grey/yellow) which you use to power up your doomsday device (which you get semi-random) and threaten a city/state/country/world. You can also use your tokens to buy cards (minions for example), that defend or enhance your empire. The game allows you to attack other players as well or steal their resources.

Re: Vide game widow

I meant more does it play the same. We got Monty Python fluxx, but we need to find some more people to play with.

Well like Munchkin it quick to set up and fairly easy to play. A game doesnt take too long either.

I saw Monty Python fluxx at our gamestore this weekend. I have to get that too :D. Too bad we cannot play this online.

Freaky coincidence - I'd never heard of that before I saw it on sale in Forbidden Planet while I was buying my comics today.
