Video game widow

Re: Video game wonder-widows

But you forget the other problem, there are about oh 5 good co-op games. Why will no one make more 2 player games?

Re: Vide game widow

My condolences. I'd love to have someone breathe heavily in my ear if I'm on TrekBBS & Omega Sector too much...show a little cleavage...suggest that if he likes being tied to a computer, might a bit of whipped desert topping, a blindfold and fur-lined handcuffs be more to his liking?

I can't believe after being married for only 2 months I've already become a widow.

My husband has gotten big into Oblivion (by the way the Patrick Stewart Emperor character is freaky as hell), spending a good 4 hours a day playing it. Okay so it only happens on the weekend or during the week if there's something really good to kill.

But I'm getting quite bored on the weekend and feeling rather ignored.

Is anyone else a vide game widow (or a something else widow)?

Okay so I can't spell if a mod wouldn't mind fixing the title a bit and make it look all pretty there'll be a treat in it for you.
Blab, just accidentally scratch the game... Eventually, after you scratch enough games, he'll get the hint :D

Hell no, that's $60 down the drain. Not to mention mass annoyance when you get to a part and the cursed thing you've spent hours on dies.

Assuming you just got them, you can always replace them for free :D

Yeah, but then he'll spend time with you
It works
That's what Cynthia did to me!

Then again, I'm no longer with her, so maybe it doesn't work too well!

Re: Vide game widow

I have a friend who complains that her boyfriend will prefer to play World of Warcraft instead of take her out. That's not the first time I've heard a girl complain about that, either. I don't get it, I guess these guys just take their girlfriends for granted. I suppose it'd be even easier to do so if you're married. Seems like a quick way to become single, if you ask me.
People are dumb. That simple.

One of the most amusing stories I have from WoW is a low level friend asking another friend and I to spend ten minutes flying out to help him with a quest only to drop everything five minutes in to go have sex with his wife.

...only to drop everything five minutes in to go have sex with his wife.
I don't think thats amusing
As far as I'm concerned, thats someone thats using their brain!
Well, it was amusing from our end. The dude has no tact, so it was spelled out fairly clearly. Then, he speed logs, and we're stuck in the middle of the Arathi Highlands laughing. :techman:

Re: Vide game widow

Ah, Morrowind and Oblivion, wreckers of marriage. Tell your hubby that Fallout 3 is far superior to Oblivion - if your marriage is going to be jeopardised, at least have it perilled by something decent. ;)

In all seriousness, my wife can relate - but after 5 years of marriage we've come to appreciate one another's need for space as well as companionship. So I've learned how to squeeze game time into those hours where she's doing something, or watching something I'm not into etc, and how to not take the piss.

Game time is significantly reduced when you have children. Hey! Maybe that's the solution...

Re: Vide game widow

we tried to use the split screen on the tv since audio can be done on the 360 via the headphones and she can use the tv speakers
But that only worked for a week or so...

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

I want some cookies. :(

I remember when I first got Oblivion when it came out a couple years ago. For the next month that was pretty much all I was focused on during my free time. It was a dark time in...um...Skywalkerland?

If I end up getting Fallout 3 for Christmas (very likely), I'm afraid the same thing will happen again.

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

I'm not going to play Oblivion until I've completed Morrowind. ;)

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

I wanted to beat Morrowind, but for some reason, after I installed both Tribunal and Bloodmoon, my old computer refused to run the game properly. :(

That's simple: video gamers are lonely boys sitting in their parents basements. :p

Nintendo and their ever increasing bank account disagree with you. :p

That reminds me of something my Mother asked me over thanksgiving. She turned to me super serious as said "Are there any of those Wii games you play sitting still?"

My sister and her brood of toddlers has one so I can see why this was deadly important to her.

Re: Vile video game wonder-widows

^My understanding is that the adverts are a bit exaggerated, you don't need to stand up and jump around like an idiot to play the games. Small motions work just as well.
