Very Sad News: Red Ranger has passed away.

Didn't know RR much outside of the 5-word games where we always had fun, but judging from the reactions of others he had quite an impact around here and will be missed by everyone. My condolences go out to his family and friends. :(

Requiescat in pace, Ivan..you never backed down even when your position was untenable...

I didn't really know him that well, but he rest in peace. It is obvious that he had many friends :(

RIP Red Ranger.

There was someone else a few years ago, went to the war.

We need a memorial page, so we don't forget these people. With so much going on, it's all too easy...

I wouldn't mind seeing a memorial page too.

I never got a chance to get to meet and befriend him. :(
Those who knew him, could you please describe him a bit and tell a few stories about him? Someone who apparently made a lot of friends here must surely have had an interesting and pleasant personality.
And if you post a little about him, it'd make a good online memorial. Maybe Bonzie could make the thread sticky later?

Every NY meet up we had, he & I had an on going debate on whether Alicia Keys was a Lesbian or not. I was "No", he was "Yes". After she got pregnant, I tried to declaire victory. Red's reply was: "That don't mean nothin'!! That don't mean nothin'!" :lol:

I guess we'll never get to conclude that now.

I greatly enjoyed reading his TNZ banter, though I don't think I ever interacted with him directly. His passing is sad news, indeed.

Rest in Peace.

Very sad indeed:borg::( R.I.P
My deepest condolences to his family, friends.. and to everyone close to him:borg:
I did not know Red Ranger well personally but I remember reading many of his posts..and I am sad that he is not here anymore.

Well this is a hell of a thing to read after being away on business for a while. I didn't know RR personally, but there were a number of subjects on the board that we connected over and I enjoyed discussing with him. We seemed to have a similar sense of humor and I would often skip to his post if I saw one down-thread. I only remember once or twice that he even vaguely hinted that he was not in the best of health.

I have never been one to form friendships or personal attachments online. But this news has made me feel quite sad, and I will miss Red Ranger's presence here very much.
