Veronica Mars Season 3 really does suck!

I just finished the show, talk about going out on a low point.

A "sex" tape? really? Was that need to make the show fit with the garbage that CW has? That had to be the lowest point of the show. This isn't high school, this is a college with at least 4,000 people who vote, there are probably 6,000 that don't vote. So all 10,000+ people care that Veronica Mars had sex?

Then the other PI running for major.... dear god that was a terrible idea, and if he was going to be sheriff in season 4 (a real one and not a spinoff) then I'm even happier it was canceled.

Then there is no end to the story they started in the season opener. That gangster still wants his money, that storyline went absolutely no where, and was just a waste. Then the storyline from the last episode with "The Castle" was really a great idea and I would have loved it if that would have been a major part of season. It could have already have lead to bringing Duncan back, even if only for an episode or so.

One thing I did like is that Dick finally had a breakdown and starts thinking that he was the reason his brother became messed up and killed himself. That was nice to see.

Honestly, I wasn't happy with how the main arcs in Seasons 1 & 2 were resolved either. Making Aaron Echols be Lily Kane's murderer feels a bit cheap since he's a character who wasn't even introduced until episode 6. And suddenly revisiting Veronica's rape in Season 2 after we thought it had all been resolved in Season 1 was stupid.

I actually liked that Aaron was the killer--even though it wasn't totally guessable in any way, it was set up well, with the way he treated Logan and then the way he just kicked the ass of that slimy producer guy dating Trina (who totally deserved it--I cheered!).

I didn't get to the point in s. 2 where they revisited Veronica's rape, but I heard about it, and I really didn't think they needed to go down that road. I liked the way that was resolved in season 1. I usually like my shows really dark, but I was relieved to find that it was mutual drugged sex with the ex she still loved. Not totally a neat and easy wrap up, but not the gut-wrenching revelation she was dreading. It should have been left there.
