Hi all. So next week is Creations annual Star Trek con, and although i have no job, and live in my grandmas basement... im going. I talked a friend into going down to see the Star Trek Experience last year before it closed, and now he has returned the favor by dragging my poor ass back there for the convention. Dont get me wrong; its my first one and im ecstatically stoked to be going, but it will be interesting to see how far my hundred bucks or so spending monies will last from Wednesday to Monday.
He kinda left me no choice but to go with him. His gf wont let him go without me because she thinks ill keep him out of trouble. Shes an idiot. The last time we were there we spent the day at the Experience, bought original series uniforms, went out on the strip that night wearing them, lost $200 each on roulette, went and got lap dances at the Spearmint Rhino (yes, in costume), and topped off the night by jumping in the fountain outside the Paris.
Anyway... i sold my golf clubs, my laptop, and some of my trek prop collection on eBay this week, and managed to make enough for my plane ticket from Canada and my preferred weekend pass to the con. But now comes the challenging part: not starving to death. Is anyone from the boards here panning on going? Can anyone give me advice on the cheapest places to eat near the convention center? And most importantly, does anyone living in the Las Vegas area need there lawn mowed, or the leaves raked, or there driveway shovelled???
Maybe i should just go straight from the airport to the Circus Circus, hit the roulette table, put it all on black, and pray for a trek related miracle
Seriously tho - anyone else going?
