don't give the writers :censored: they are on our side, they want good quality tv & movies , it's the cheap ass studio execs , who don't want to pay them for the work they did and look for every loophole in the law to do so. Yes i'm pissed too and I think it sucks , but this could be a way to make this movie the best Star Trek ever. It's like a pot of spaghetti souce, the longer it simmers the better it will taste, becouse all the ingredients and spices soak up together and the tomato souce brings out all the flavor over time, i know that was a really long metaphor, but i just wanted to explain the best i can
I hope the :censored:ing writers are happy about that shit. :(

The writers have more important things to address than whether or not some Trek fans have to wait a bit for a fix. We needn't feel responsible one way or another for this decision - the strike would not have been necessary or could have ended quickly if management had bargained in good faith from the beginning.

End of story, move on.

I would rather the creative team behind XI take it time and delivery something both exciting and of high quality than throw some piece of junk out there with the Star Trek label slapped on it (*COUGH* NEMESIS *COUGH*) that finishes off the film franchise once and for all.

More time = better film imho, so I am happy.

We have had our fill of Trek these past 20 years, another 5 months aint gonna kill us.

What is this, Star Trek:Vista?

At this rate, by the time it finally comes out, it'll be a historical drama rather than a sci-fi feature.

Make no mistake, Paramount is scared, very scared that the Emperor has no clothes. They have doubtlessly been watching the dailies and are not pleased with what they have seen. Time to head down to your basements, folks. This movie has "bomb" written all over it.

Everyday I feel that I'm going downhill then I get a day or two where I feel fine. I hope I'm still here or healthy enough to see it. It's been too long of a wait already.

May 8, 2009 may still be a tentative date. Should another studio decide to move up or move down one of their blockbusters around that time due to the strike, it might be prudent for Paramount to change the date again...

^^^
I think if they weern't pleased with what they were seeing - we'd see the film moved to the January - February timeframe. Instead they are moving it to 'Summer Blockbuster' season because they feel it has more drawing power.

That's not the type move a studio makes if they have no confidence in a film.

YAY team! :p

So is Shatner in this thing? I say put him in a cameo as a disproportionately giant vectoring nacelle!

:p

No! Your idea is wrong because you're stoopid! :p

I just hope this doesn't backfire and the movie tanks at the box office. One good thing for those of us who spend too much at Christmas anyway will have more money in May. That's me looking for a bright side to this besides the fact they writers and JJ can tweek and polish this thing to make is a blockbuster. I can dream...

I'll be 20 by the time that comes out, fucking 20.

Im sorry, even tho I am 18, that still feels like a fucking ripe old age.

*sigh*

Cry me a river. I'm 36 and I'm enjoying life way more than I did when I was ion my 20's. It's called experience. Get some!

Even when I was 18 I didn't think 20 was old at all. I really don't understand that mindset.

Has there been an example of a movie pushing back its release date resulting in its success?

Also, will the teaser poster's value reach Revenge Of The Jedi proportions? I got one at the Emerald City ComiCon and it's hanging up in my den. Maybe I should store it away as a future investiments.
