Can definitely see that, physically anyway. For some reason I always confuse Paul Dano with Sam Huntington.

I would love a Batman movie that takes the material seriously but that doesn't try to be "realistic". Unfortunately, this looks to be another Nolan inspired "realistic" piece of shit,
all failing to understand the source and how a comic should be adapted.
I haven't read any Suicide Squad comics, so I'm not sure how far off it is from it's usual presentation in the comics, but if by it's sequel you mean Birds of Prey, I'm going to have to disagree pretty strongly. It might not have fit the BoP comics, but it was absolutely perfect as Harley Quinn. I just read the first New 52 Harley comic a couple months ago, and I thought Birds of Prey really fit in with it pretty well. The only films fitting that accusation / associated with DC movies were Suicide Squad, its sequel, and Shazam--all failing to understand the source and how a comic should be adapted. Just noise and giggles like a bad 80s cartoon.

And Shazam! is an utter delight.I haven't read any Suicide Squad comics, so I'm not sure how far off it is from it's usual presentation in the comics, but if by it's sequel you mean Birds of Prey, I'm going to have to disagree pretty strongly. Yawn. The ones that failed that were MOS, BvS, and JL. And the Nolan movies, but back then folks didn't know any better.
With any luck, Reeves won't repeat those mistakes and will accept Batman in a fantastical world.

Exactly. He's still crying rivers of tears in his alternate reality where the MCU is the model for superhero films (far from it), forever driven to moaning and fits by the mere existence of other comic-based films that work as well, or in a number of case, are superior to most of the MCU..Yawn.
That wasn't an adaptation. That was the original. It is not close at all, and to this day, Quinn's best adaptation was in the WB/"Timmverse" cartoons.
Shazam understood the source material, but that source was Geoff Johns's take not Binder and Beck's.The only films fitting that accusation / associated with DC movies were Suicide Squad, its sequel, and Shazam--all failing to understand the source and how a comic should be adapted. Shitty cast? This has an amazing cast.
OK yes, Pattinson did do Twilight, but since then he's given acclaimed performances in other stuff, and Zoe Kravitz isn't a huge star, but I liked her in X-Men: First Class, and Mad Max: Fury Road. I can't remember Paul Dano from anything, but he is a pretty well respected actor, Jeffrey Wright has been consistently awesome in Westworld, and Andy Serkis was absolutely amazing in the Middle Earth movies, and the rebooted Planet of the Apes series. I'm not real familiar with Jayme Lawson or Peter Sarsgaard, but I am a big fan of Colin Farrell.
And I really enjoyed Cloverfield, and absolutely loved Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, so I'm very confident Matt Reeves will give us an absolutely awesome Batman movie.
Why do constantly judge a book by its cover?
You haven’t even seen it yet you’re throwing it under the bus right away
How do you know we have a “shitty cast”?
So. Much. Yawn.Well, good for you? Personally, I can't stand the movies that this director has made, and Andy Serkis is the only one of those actors that I think is a legitimately good actor, the rest I either don't know (Dano, Lawson, Sarsgaard, Wright) or think are terrible actors (Pattinson, Kravitz, Farrell).
This whole thing is basically just a fourth Nolan style movie with a worse cast (except for Serkis, who is superior to Michael Caine in my opinion). Nolan's movies were better then Snyder's, but still boring, mediocre stuff obsessed with being "realistic" and outright hating its own source material.
Because the cast is shitty? I mean, unless they're lying and hired good actors to play batman, catwoman, etc, and the announced names are just a fake out, its a shitty cast. The director has only made movies I can't stand, and the whole visual style is just more Nolan "realism", but worse. I just want an actual fucking Batman movie. We need a Batman movie where its completely unrealistic for him to actually exist. Give me a classic Batsuit that doesn't look like spraypainted sports gear, cool gadgets, villains who are actually from the comics and not name only garbage like in the Nolan films, etc.
Batman has existed for over 80 years because of the comics, yet no live action movie has ever actually tried to take what the comic does well and go from there, even to the extent that the MCU does. Burton didn't go for realism, but his Batman was a serial killer and Burton actively disliked comics and the character of Batman so I can't call them good Batman movies, even if Batman 89 is a fun movie by itself. Schumacher was just completely uninterested or incapable of making good movies, period. Nolan was obsessed with "realism" and hated having to actually use Batman almost as much as Burton did, being more interested with the boring , mundane crap around Batman way more then the actual Batman stuff. Snyder is a hack who doesn't believe in superheroes to begin with. Now, we're basically just back to Nolan, but with a worse cast and visual style..
Also, "judging a book by its cover" has worked for me 99% of the time, with only Wonder Woman completely surprising me and being a great film. Besides that, I'm pretty damn solid at predicting what movies I hate and which ones I'll like, and this movie looks like more of the shitty Nolan stuff that WB is literally addicted to making. I thought that they'd kicked the habit after Justice League, but its back, just leaning more toward Nolan's style of shitty DC movie instead of Snyder's.
Which of Matt Reeves movies have you seen? What about Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravits, Colin Farrell, what have you seen them in?Well, good for you? Personally, I can't stand the movies that this director has made, and Andy Serkis is the only one of those actors that I think is a legitimately good actor, the rest I either don't know (Dano, Lawson, Sarsgaard, Wright) or think are terrible actors (Pattinson, Kravitz, Farrell).

They are. Every other attempt has imploded or has to be INO. That includes Nolan's wannabes.
Really? Every single superhero movie except the MCU? So the Reeve Superman movies that most people consider the definitive portrayal were Superman in name only? They are. Every other attempt has imploded or has to be INO. That includes Nolan's wannabes.
