Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

Just wanted to say I Love the Vanguard series, as far as I'm concered it's the best TOS series ever!
Also, I'm new to Trek BBS and am very impressed how actual celebrities take time to respond to us "common folk." Kudos (sp?) to you!

I second that. I prefer talking to writers than those "other" so-called celebrities who make more money and act like jerks.

Never met a writer who acted like a jerk.

Except in this discussion forum, the only way I remotely qualify as a "celebrity" is when people mistake me for the "other guy", David "Kabuki" Mack.

Must...resist...straight line... :D

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

There's a David Mack listed on the Dragon*Con ad. Is that you, or is that the other one?

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

In that case, I'm glad I didn't buy a ticket to Atlanta to get RtW signed!

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

There will be other Trek authors at Dragon*Con: A.C. Crispin, Peter David, John deLancie, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Diana G. Gallagher, Terri Osborne, Josepha Sherman, and Richard C. White.

So, never been to the bar at Shore Leave, eh?
Never managed to get across the pond for Shore Leave yet, but I'm planning to next year, provided that the finances are up to par. And being drunk does not automatically make one act like a jerk, though I was thinking more of sober writers. ;)

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

Very good book. Vanguard is really turning into a great series. I can't wait for the next installment.

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

Just dropped by, to add my congratulations, David. I thought that you continued the theme of the story brilliantly, great read! cheers! May there be many more!

Currently reading ; Grand Designs

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

The only problem I have is that I now have to wait for the next book to hopefully wrap up the threads left dangling. But then, if the book was not good I would not have that problem.

Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind

^Yeah, I doubt very much that we will see the rest of the threads tied up by the end of the next book. Since this is an ongoing series, their probably going to leave at least some stuff open for the 5, 6, 7, 8... books.

Just like being drunk does not automatically make one act like a jerk, neither does being sober automatically keep one from acting like a jerk . . . not that I'm naming names . . . or showing the pictures. ;)

Hope to see you this Shore Leave, Xeris. I can guarantee (at least with the inclusion of some fine print) that you'd have a great time. And you'd be able to do your own "jerk research" at the bar.
