Re: Vanguard: Reap the Whirlwind excerpt is up
Should I read the minipedia before starting the story?

^ Just to nitpick, although the Vanguard saga currently comprises three volumes, it is not, strictly speaking, a trilogy. It is a continuing series that, while having certain finite story arcs, also contains a number of open-ended narrative threads. In theory, as long as its sales justify its continuation, Pocket can find ways to carry it forward.

Hmm. I'm not sure if I like that.
Who knows? Depending upon future story arcs, it's possible that it might merit a cover appearance. We'll just have to wait and see, though.DEWLine said:
When does the Rocinante get its time to shine, I wonder?

Are we ever going to get an in universe explanation for why we have never heard of Vanguard, the Meta Genome, and the Shedai in the 24th century stuff? Because IMO this seems like the kind of thing that could have major impact on the UFP for quite some time.
In my opinion, no. Certain major questions are answered and relationships clarified, but this arc is far from done.JD said:
1. Are there enough threads tied up for this to be considered the end of an arc?
As another poster has already pointed out, it's not necessary to explain anything of the sort. Much of what transpires in the books would not be public knowledge, not even those elements that are intended to demonstrate its lasting effects on the Federation.2.
