Vanguard Precipice- It's been read. Probable spoilers

I really enjoyed the book. And what an ending!!!!!!

Just you reminding me of the ending again gave me chills. That last scene might've been my favorite TrekLit scene all year.
Oh yeah, I definitely have to agree.

I liked when Dr Marcus handed it over to him, as if to say, "This is your handiwork. You tell the admiral we just scored big"

Though I would have liked to see a description of Nogura's face when Xiong said that.

I never thought I'd live to see the day when an F-bomb was dropped in a Star Trek novel. Then again, I never thought I'd live to see the day when there was rough lesbian sex in a Star Trek novel. Vanguard and David Mack never fails to deliver.

I actually finished Precipice awhile ago, but I felt I really couldn't add anything to this conversation that hasn't already been said--so I'm going to do it now anyway. Another great outing with action, mystery, and nice character development/interactions. I always liked Quinn, but now I'm an absolute fan. Pennington, T'Prynn, Desai, Xiong, etc., have all become my favorites and--

[**GUSHING LIMITER ENABLED**]

As a random note, any chance of more Pennington and T'Prynn team-ups? They really had a comic vibe going at times....

I wanted to say, David, it was a great novel. Vanguard has yet to disappoint me.

And I'm glad that the Vanguard tradition of Rush references was continued.

Damn, so this isn't a permanent thing then? I've loved the scenes between them, and I was really hoping this would be an onging thing.

^ The multiple reasons for the delays in Quinn and Bridy Mac's first trip to the ruins (which they had been told were only half a day's ride away) were spelled out on page 103.

And what page number in the ePub version is this?

I keep saying this but Vanguard is like Trek as done by HBO.It's got everything, great characters,violence,intrigue,double-dealing,gangsters,hitmen,lesbians and now, swearwords:shifty:

So,why isn't Vanguard on screen already?

Well, if you want to get nitpicky it should be Showtime, since they're actually owned by CBS.

A Vanguard tv series on Showtime would be the greatest thing to happen to science fiction television and Star Trek ever :techman:. One can just imagine the possibilities...

Showtime? The channel that showed SG1 for it's first five(?) seasons?

The channel that does Weeds, Dexter, Californication, Nurse Jackie, The United States of Tara, and the Tudors. THAT Showtime. And yes...they also did the first 5 years of SG-1 from 1997-2002...

I've only heard of Californication and The Tudors on that list and I think they are shown on Five and BBC2 respectively over here.

Ahhh... Well. I see. Weeds has been on for 5 years and is fantastic. The United States of Tara started last year and was (deservedly) nominated for a bevy of awards. Dexter is one of the best things I've ever watched on television. It's about a serial killer who only kills bad guys. And oh so much more. Check some of them out if you ever get the chance :)
