Yeah, that was my first thought after I saw the search result.Given that show's tendency toward geek references, I wouldn't be surprised if that character in the show were named for AI researcher Douglas R. Hofstadter, author of the classic book Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid.
