I love how Pronger got the smallest cheer among all the Canadians when the medals were being handed out.
I'm thinking there is some kind of epidemic in Canada, because apparently 2/3 of Canadians are going to call in sick tomorrow!
Congratulations on a great Olympics Canada. That was a hell of a hockey game and you guys deserved it fair and square. I wish it hadn't been Crosby though, since it seems like he gets everything, but it's not a perfect world. Hats off to the Americans though. So many critics were saying they were too small when the team was announced in the Winter Classic and they exceeded all expectations. Miller has nothing to be ashamed of, because he was masterful in this tournament. I liked how Classy everything was. I think this is a great day for Hockey in general. You had the best in the sport showcasing true talent and you had the one who is pretty much the NHL's Ambassador with the game winner. The medal ceremony was great, the post game interviews were great, and it was just a wonderful day for the Sport of Hockey. Now I wish the NHL would adapt some of these rules, like getting rid of the trapazoid and no-touch icing. It just felt like the game in international rules was cleaner and much more exciting. As for the medal count, nice for Canada to get the 14th gold. I'm still not entirely sure how that happened since one minute they were not doing very well and the next they are golden atop of the leaderboard, but still good for the country. Also, great for the US in these olympics too. I'm a little disappointed in the Alpine skiing the last few days, but we saw the redemption of Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn doing well in the Downhill, and then in the other events, Ohno being the best winter Olympian American athlete. It was a good olympics, but I'm glad it's over. It's wearing really, all this coverage and all the hoopla surrounding it. Now it's time to think about the stretch run for the NHL Season, Baseball is starting, and March Madness kicking off in a few weeks.
What a game, and what a fantastic Olympics! Despite the tragedies and hiccups, Vancouver put on one hell of a show! Fortunately, you'll have your 13 bronze to keep you feeling good.
