Question: does this constitue a demand for all ships made with your parts pages to be withdrawn from all forums? If the existing pages are still open for use, what credits aree you requiring to be placed?
No, the stuff that's out (the toolkits) is OUT. I gave those away and I'm not taking those back. Keep in mind that ONLY the toolkits were made publically available, which was one rule that was violated.
The rule was pretty simple, if you start using the toolkits you had to not pass the work off completely as your own. You also couldn't just slightly alter existing artwork and pass it off completely as your own. That was what was violated.
I've been finding 'wreck-bashes' uncredited all over. I was giving them a miss for the most part until a few people were getting 'in your face' about doing it. At that point, I decided it was time to end the project.
Apparently, for just enough of the fans, getting something for free with nothing more than a 'by your leave' attached was just too much of a price to pay.

Thank you for clarifying the situation...for whatever it's worth, I'm sorry that people have abused the opportunity you gave them with your fantastic "toolkits". If any of MY 'bashes have offended, please inform me which ones and I will pull them down immediately.

I ran into the same thing years ago on the SSDB when I had all these kids producing fan-wank "USS AzzKikker NX-50000000-Z" ultra-fast-battle-destroyer-dreadnaughts with 20 warp nacelles and 100 phaser strips. It honestly got silly and tiresome after a while, and these were all supposedly "serious designs".
Ugh... That was the major reason I stopped taking submissions for the database. It honestly wasn't worth my time any more to keep up with all that flotsam.

Not coincidentally, I was working on this when all this happened. The extended hull (which was meant for some of Aridas' works) is included, which is one reason I was so annoyed. Since it's DONE, I'll go ahead and put it out as part of the existing toolkit set, under the same rules as before.
*laughs* The big problem wasn't really just the lack of credit, but the actual statement of 'screw you, we can use anything that's put on the internetz!' from the offender. And, yes, he did it to make another over-sized and over-powered Super Dreadnought too.
I suppose I should reconsider, really.. but I'm also thinking of taking the plunge full-on into Canvas and follow Jackill's lead.
That's just unbelievable... Some people are real pieces of work. Personally, I really appreciate your toolkits. I don't think I'd have taken the plunge into ship designs without your training wheels. Granted I haven't done much, but what I have done started with me playing with your spare parts

The Paladin (this version of the ship) is listed as 'unknown' really. I don't know who coined her as the Paladin, but that design is extremely common, and given a lot of other names. :S

When I was in high school, my friends and I used to talk about TREK and draw starships all the time. We weren't content with tri-nacelled Federation-class dreadnoughts, with "NCC" on the sides, either. Back in the early '80's, we drew quad-nacelled gunships with "WKA" (for "we kick ass"). Who'da thunk that, 25 years down the road, a new generation of geeky kids would be ruining the internet with even more purified bovine scatterings...
Of course, I never dreamed I'd live to see the day when kids would walk into school with a tiny telephone in their pocket, and be able to send e-mail and text messages, either. Somebody harness the Britney Spears generation, please!

Not to mention that they're WRONG...if they're pirating Vance's stuff, they are in violation of their Terms of Service with their ISP, and likely with whatever forum/board/etc they post on.
Vance, if you read this, you really ought to get a line on them (which you seem to have if you've been in contact with them) and turn them in to their ISP and sites.
Vance - Sorry to hear about the "issues" your having regarding the toolkits. I second the motion to get in touch with this guys ISP and inform the ISP of the offender's abuse. Just my take, but sometimes it only takes slapping a few people down to get the others into line.

Do you have to have a special program to cut and past (PhotoShop, etc.) or can you use simple programs like MS Paint? If the latter, do you think you could pst a quick tutorial (or just PM me - You can head it as "Idiot" if you like
)? I have NO experience in this area (I unfortuantely did not grow up in the era where everyone had a computer in their house), be it in 2D or 3D. I appreciate any help or any websites you can aim me to that will assist.

You don't need any special program in this case, you can just use MS Paint. In order to move around the parts, use the selection tool and draw a box around the part you want to move. However, in order to easily move parts close to one another without a white box around them, you want to select the option I have indicated with a red arrow below (and make sure the background color in your palette is white).
I hear you Vance, I had my own struggle with plagiarism a long time ago, but was able to put it past me. It's tough.
