Vance's Schematics II

and btw Mr. Vance i will follow your rules and make sure to credit you and put the link of your site on my sig in the other forum :)

Aridas, what i understood from your post was that Vance has no rights to complain, when people "steal" his toolkit, because he himself has "stolen" the designs for the parts (notably the Belknap, which i indeed attributed to be one of your designs), which would mean, that recreating those parts (what is exactly what Warhol did with the can of soup) does not entitle Vance to claim any rights.

So sorry, if i got you wrong.

..and since you wanted some of my work, something i whipped up after one of Matt Jeffries' designs for the Enterprise, made of course with Vance's Toolkit. From the parts i used this would date in the same timeframe as the Horizon, which i now tend to find too modern for the design, it works best as an much earlier design, probably for an alternate Enterprise era (i'm working on that).

No problem. What Vance is doing was not the subject of my post.

Similar, but not this one. This follows what SFPO did more exactly, though it keeps the 'Connie' secondary hull line father than the FJ one.

Anywho, the thread's 10 pages, so thread III will be next. :)

Oh ok thanks for the info and please tell me about what i asked about my designs before you start III ok?

Interesting that you chose to repost that particular illustration, Vance. I get your point. Nevertheless, there's an interesting story behind it. We corresponded with FJ about our desire to include his version of the Constitution-class in our works, because we were aware that it was different from the filmed versions that we were going to include. We didn't want to see his version forgotten. He wanted it presented in its original form, and we wanted to make Achernar a slightly-updated design, because of the other Constitution designs that were already to be included. So, what you get is the original version from the TM and BoP labeled as Achernar and the update that was to have been Achernar as a refit. It was a compromise to keep everyone happy.

Actually, I didn't mean anything by reposting this one, except to answer the 'dishless Constitution' request. I realized the only other ones I had were the Phase II and Endeavour, which wasn't quite the same. :)

Well my Question is on Page 9 and first page on page 10 :)

i hate be a pest but i wanted to start on it tomorrow and i dont to make you mad by making it and posting it.

and i going to sleep now bye *waves*

Hey Guys
I'm looking at the Vancouver and I see some differences between it and the Belknap
One obvious as Vance pointed out is the second deflector, on the primary hull 2 the second is the primary hull connecting dorsal to the secondary is designed and connected in a different place as opposed to the Belknap. 3 if i remember correctly the Belknap uses an elliptical main deflector as opposed to a round one. 4 There seems to be an addition on the bottom fantail that is not on the Belknap. 5 I also think that the connection point for the warp pylons on the front view of the Belknap is much wider than the one shown on this ship. The Gentleman in question should have credited his design source but it looks like he's made some pretty drastic changes as well.

Looking for images, particularly hotspur class at the moment. In fact I cannot see any images that may be embedded in this thread. What would the reason for this be ? Sorry, if this is a stupid question.

images are gone cus links to them have removed years ago

did you try searching photobucket? thats where i've seen large collections of the Vance schematics :)

These two are the only ones I'm aware of. Here's Vance's:

And here's another variant by Dirk Jansen:

They're on my own server at the SSDB, so they shouldn't go away for a long time (hopefully).

Thanks to all for your help.
Does Vance possibly go by another name on Photobucket? I have previously familiarized myself with aridas sofia's and Bernard Guignard's Photobuckets. But found nothing from Vance.
I am currently looking for any work that has been done on the Macon class.

^^^ That's the one. As for finding schematics, pjheilers, you will find a few of them there, but only the more recent ones he did - the ones in color. Many of the older grayscale designs you won't find there. I should, however, have them all archived after having spent several days cataloging them all. If you need to see all the stuff of his that I've collected you can find them on these pages. His stuff is usually towards the bottom of each page:

http://shipschematics.net/startrek/new_02_10_2010.php
http://shipschematics.net/startrek/new_02_11_2010.php (This one has his rare Klingon designs)

And, as you requested, here's the Macon:
