I like the Accoustica versions of Panama & Beautiful Girls on the Deluxe CD/DVD.
I just can't stop listening to it. Great album...so glad it did not suck. Even Tattoo which I thought was a weak first single has grown on me. it's one of my favorites on the CD. I love Stay Frosty...awesome. There's not a single track I dislike though some are better than others.
It's still in the first slot of my CD changer. It is really a great record. Lots of fun.
I think the only song I skip is Honeybabysweetiedoll.
The stretch from song 2 (She's the Woman) to song 7 (As Is) is most excellent.

Well, if it's a "gettting along thing" why would they postpone the shows instead of cancelling them? And if it's a "health thing", why would they continue to tour for another month and a half and then stop?
One rumor on the VHND is that they are going to postpone the second American leg in order to accomodate a European tour. Who knows if that's true or not, at this point.
This is all definitely strange, but I'm going to wait to hear something official from the band before getting too worked up. Luckily, my show is not one of the cancelled ones.

OK, now VH are saying they are only postponing those shows for a second leg of the tour & to keep them fresh for Japan & Australia.

Still no European tour? sigh...

That story about them 'hating each other, blah, blah, blah...' was debunked practically immediately after it came out. Surprised no one posted the debunkage here.
The thing is that these guys are not nearly as young as they were the last time they toured together....and the announced tour schedule was VERY aggressive, even for a band full of 20-somethings...and (with the exception of Wolfgang) these guys are all pushing 60.
People just love to jump right to the 'they hate each others guts and are on the verge of blows!!!!' story because it's more gossipy than is 'these guys are nearly 60 years old and after 30+ shows, find they are in need of a break before they tackle another 30.' But me? I'm happy that things are okay in the VH camp. I mean, these guys will never be best buds or anything....but I'd really like to hope that at this point in their lives, they could set aside their differences and do a tour without excessive drama.
Digits, when the cancellation notice came out last week, I immediately thought of you...but then when I saw all those Northern/Central CA shows were still on, I was so pleased for you! I want a full report, since I obviously will not get to see them. Hope it's a great show!

In fairness, their reputation comes from history and experience. I'm not surprised people jumped to that conclusion. I'm glad things seem to be okay in the band. If Farmer Dave says it's cool, that's good enough for me.
I have no problem with them taking a break and pacing themselves. That might be something they talk about before scheduling a bunch of new shows, though...
Agree about that. It is terrible form when bands do this, lots of people will have made expensive travel arrangements and that sort of thing, which I am sure means bugger all to rock stars. I have been known to cross the Atlantic just to see a band before now.
I think bands have a duty to stick to their schedule once they have sold tickets, I don't consider "we're tired because we planned this thing badly" to be a good excuse.

Perchance to Dream and myself had VIP packages for the show at HP Pavilion.

I don't know what exactly happened to David Lee Roth, but he decided to show up tonight. He was on it. Just a great show all around!!!!!!!! It was great fun. We had VIP Packages that were supposed to include a backstage tour. They told us that wasn't going to happen. Instead, we got to sit through the sound check first row. It was coolness.
Kool and the Gang frakking grooved. What a great choice for an opening act.
One of my top 5 concerts of all time.

I thought that being able to watch the sound check was a pretty good substitute for the backstage tour. I have no complaints, other than the pounding headache I have this morning....
