Vala-Misstep?

i like vala. she provided comedic element that was lacking. and the comedy was better than the one jack "i don't know anything laugh at me" o'neil.

She was VERY annoying but looked great, so, I gave her a pass. Eventually, she grew on me (or I learned to tolerate her?)

Pretty much my take. Nice eye candy to look at once in a while, that's about it.

I think the actress wanted to distance herself from the role she played in "Farscape" that she deliverately overhammed her performance in the other direction. Not good.

I liked Vala at first, but when she was brought back in Season 10, she acted like a little girl, which I couldn't stand. The more she was around, the more I hated her. It just seemed so ridiculous for this selfish, incompenent, untrained person to be with this group of soldiers. Usually she just caused trouble, and no one called her on it. Plus, i couldn't stand that half the episodes had a "how does Vala feel" moment. Ugh. As a recurring character, she would've been fun. But as a fulltime character, no thanks.

Plus, CB's acting was so over the top sometimes, that my cringe-factor was set on high.

You folks are kidding right? I LOVE Vala. I thought she made seasons 9 and 10 some of the best Stargate that we'd seen in a long time. She was fun and allowed the other characters to regain some of the dignity they'd lost in the later years.

She was an important shot in the arm to an otherwise stagnant series. In fact, she was the ONLY fundamentally new thing added to the series.
I agree.

She needed to be fun. Jack was gone and Cam seemed a little dull (compared to John Crichton).
