They were stupid and should have killed Anna. They had a couple of good shots they could have taken. Luckily this is a fake show or we would all be doomed with this fools running around trying to save us.

One part I find annoying is the "get rid of the human souls" mess. This is lame and just seems so out of place with this show.

^It really does.

And I found it particularly distasteful that Erica refuses to put "innocent lives" at risk---until her own son is in the clear. Then it's OK again. I mean, really; if you truly believe the entire planet is at stake, risking a few people in a ballroom seems worth it, if they could have guaranteed Anna's death.

I also wish they would quit calling themselves "5th Column." They aren't 5th column; they're Resistance. The 5th Column is the group working from WITHIN the oppressors, undermining the government from within, not the group outside.

I can't say that I particularly like ANY of these characters at all; the only one who seemed mildly interesting was Marcus, and he might be gone now.

Hubby is determined to see this show through to the bitter end, but I'm actually starting to hate it.

There should be such a thing as a Purple Heart for acting, to be given to any actor who is forced to recite lines like "We will begin rounding up the human females for breeding as soon as we find a way to destroy the human soul." :rommie: Oy. And. Vey.

It's a major problem with this show that Erica is continually depicted as more concerned with being a mom than an FBI agent. I can't believe she even has a job, much less is put in charge of security for a high-profile personage. Nice way to destroy the credibility of the lead character and undermine audience sympathy for her.

hopefully some of these issues will be addressed when Erica is investigated. hopefully. you never can tell what will happen on V.

Not a bad episode, something seems to have turned around in the writers room... is Rockne S O'Bannon the new showrunner?

But still.... fifth column? Why the fuck do they still call them the Fifth Column? its so wrong. A Fifth Column is a group that works from within a larger group they are trying to bring down from within (ie the good aliens in the original V on the motherships).
.
Like John May, Ryan, Dr Pearlman, Joshua, Lisa...

What Erica and her little book club are is a RESISTANCE MOVEMENT working against an a superior force that is occupying their territory (ie the French Resistance vs the Occupying Nazi's). To call it anything else is incorrect and stupid. And I thought people (including the aliens themselves) calling the Visitor's V's was dumb.

Well the FC and resistance are working as one group.

but talking of the FC V's on the ground, ryan said in 1.06 they are an army scattered all over the world yet so far all we have seen are humans.

Well, better than usual. It's still a pretty dumb show, but at least this episode had an exciting plot (Erica's Fifth Column cell joins up with Cohen's Fifth Column cell to make an assassination attempt on Anna etc.).

I can see Cohen and Hobbes become best buddies very quickly btw. Of course it's probably mistake to have two characters on the show who are virtually identical. Hobbes could just as well have been introduced as the leader of a rogue/radical Fifth Column cell in Season 1.

I expect one of them to meet a bloody end pretty quickly. I'd prefer if it were Hobbes since Cohen is the obvious candidate.

What happened to the scientist guy Sidney? What's he up to? He better put in as much screen time as possible while this show is still on the air. :rommie:

That would validate the entire series to me.

make every bad line and stupid plot kink worth it.

If the series was cancelled with enough warning that the producers decide to let the bad guys win.

This show has to be cancelled.

It's so painful.

He didn't hand Tyler over to the Authorities or made him clean up his mess as an in house solution, and he didn't thornebird with Erica.

He's going to lose his frock over this protest.

Why does he even have a seat at the table? What does he bring tot he party?

Eli has a million soldiers. Jack has a neigh saying pompous attitude poohpoohing other cogent if not blood fulled (fuelled) plans. Jack has nothing valuable to commit while being an extreme liability as the focus of both the FBI and Anna overlapping inquisitions.

By next episode he'll be allowed to give in to his wet desires and nothing about offending some imaginary moral authority is going to cockblock him any more.

Do you think the Vatican gave in because they were pussies, or because they needed time to get their ducks in order to formulate a counter attack. It's been a while since knights templar ran about killing for god, but the Pope would... Oh, he's "German". That goes a way to brushing that tripe from last century under the carpet.

I wonder if the Pope in V is the same Pope in our world?

Hmmm.

Does anyone anyone here actually believe that the soul is real/exists?

That it can be found and destroyed?

I mean if she's will to put her entire invasion on hold because of some fantastical wildgoose chase redherring?

The President "What I do now I do for the sake of the people of this world. But there is one man here on earth who never kneel to you."

Anna "Who is this Imbecile? Where is he?"

Oh.

You know how Lacy's plot (plod) seemed reasonless until the (if there was a next year on Caprica) fakish promo told us that she was going to become the Battle Pope of the STO.

Could Jack become Pope?

You know like a farmboy became a deathstar blowing up general Jedi pope, or a wayward commander of a dinky space station between the crossroads of a few major empires became the Minbari Godpope... Ever read Cerebus?

If Jack destroys the V, decapitates Anna on international TV while giving the word to nuke the rest of the mother ships, well surely he wouldn't just be asked to resume his little parish but they'd make him the new Pope in deference for being the worlds greatest hero.

Of course if he accepts the papacy, he'd have to stop shtupping Erica.

Is it wrong that I'm starting to want the Visitors to win? :shifty:

Not at all, welcome to the V side.

My dad has been rooting for the aliens since day one.

Hooray! Strength in numbers! :D

I'm liking Father Jack Landry less and less.
What did he do wrong in this episode?

Firstly, he's a loudmouth at a time when he should really be silent. Yeah, he hates the Visitors because he knows their secret plot. He's being painstakingly visible, a sore thumb. So when he should shut up at the moment the Vatican says "Hey, let's be nice to the Vs", something brought on by Anna due directly to his actions, he continues to speak out openly and to the public media! He's a part of the Fifth Column, secrecy is essential. I expect him to die pretty soon, to be honest. I'm surprised he's still alive.
