Fittingly, the last words Lorca will hear in this life will be:

"Dude, you have been a colossal dick."

Then...Boom, Bitch!

No.

This is fucking awesome.

We've seen questionable and colossally stupid tactics from both Lorca and Mercer less than a half-dozen episodes in. Whatever their technological advantages are, this "don't fire 'til you see the whites of their eyes" stuff is already antiquated.

Mercer and crew have taken out three enemy battleships this season in circumstances where they were substantially outgunned and at a disadvantage.

Lorca only has Saru. Mercer has Adrianne Palicki. :D

The last words Mercer would hear as the Orville is disintegrated into a million pieces by the churning spore spin crush would be Tilly's "This is fucking awesome!" :p

"Churning Spore Spin Crush".

I like that.

i challenge that assumption of yours

I replied to the statement 'You gotta ask yourselves who's got the better maneuvers?' Orville has the best pilot out of a fleet of 3000 ships. The spore drive doesn't factor into maneuverability, it's a point-to-point system, it can jump into a fixed position (very questionably into a planets atmosphere) it's "sneak ability" on a moving target is no greater than warping in it simply lets them travel greater distances faster. On the subject of sneaking though The Planetary Union has cloaking technology, Starfleet has magically found a way to track cloaked ships as yet.

Does Discovery have more money? Because its visual effects are very cheap looking and very crappy.

Wait...what?

I understand people not liking the show, but the visual effects are movie quality, IMHO.

I think the show looks fantastic.

I'm referring to the exterior shots of the ships. Discovery itself, specifically looks like something rendered in the early days of CGI.

I think the ships look good the constant 'coloured space' is a problem as is the lens flares, jerky cam and dutch angles. The shot of the space station in episode 5 was also joke it was so dark it lacked any depth. A space station orbiting a planet is shown darker than ships in the deep of space?

The outer space/ship shots are not rendered with the quality that a major motion picture would demand or anywhere near it. They're recognizably CG in the way that many video games are.
