Using Time Travel to Prevent Voyager from Going to the DQ

Interesting idea but I don't think it would've accomplished much and as already stated here would have several repucussions for the Voyager crew and the resisdents of the Delta Quadrant. As much as we all chastise Captain Janeway for her various questionable command decisions she did do some good while in the DQ, particularly with the Borg. Remember also that the only reason they got thrusted into the Delta Quadrant from the Alpha was becuase Starfleet ordered Voyager to presue the rouge Maquis ships in the Badland.

The reason Admiral Janeway went back to the point in time she did was to make sure her current crew (ala her family) got home all in tact. It was motivated from her perspective. I'm sure that if an earlier Janeway had the chance and didn't have all of the experiences that Admiral Janeway posessed then yeah she might've chosen to go back and prevent Voyager from going to the Badlands.

According to the script... The TERRIBLE script... The only reason Janeway picked that moment was to take advantage of the transwarp Hub.

Looking for possibly subconscious exposition the writers only included because they got lucky, it's obvious that it was all about making sure Miral was Born in the AQ, something Miral must have been intrigued by since it was that little halfbreed which acquired the temporal device for the Admiral.

Monkeys with typewriters.
