Yeah, but if you do it via the service, it's a temporary download that allows you to watch it once; or becomes unwatchable if you don't view what you downloaded in a certain timeframe (usually 2 days to two weeks).

What it does allow you to do is watch it on your preferred device without bandwidth pauses - or allows you to download a higher resolution version and watch it reliably and uninterrupted than your ISP situation would allow if you always had to stream it everytime you attempted to watch it.

or download stuff to take with you and watch on a trip when you may or may not have wifi access.

I actually do that with other services on my ipad (which is wifi only a lot). If I'm doing on a plane trip I'll download several shows to the ipad and watch as a travel.
