I was mostly confused why this merited a new thread. haha.Star Trek fans should be so lucky.
I suspect they are using the edited and potted music stems, which would line up easily and be an inexpensive process. Only two of the shows in the set have fully composed scores. The rest are either partial or fully tracked scores and recreating those would be an expensive and time consuming task. Are they having to recreate the isolated scores as edited/tracked onto the episodes, or do they already exist as separate tracks?
Interesting that they're offering an English mono track. Will it be the original sound mix or simply a mix down of the 7.1? Also, remastered FX only?
That's just made it much more desirable to me.According to press reports, it's newly restored audio -- the original mono, which has never been released on home video. The effects will be the originals only.
ANOTHER commentary for Tribbles?!

Yeah. I would love to see stuff like that.I wonder if they found some of the original effects elements to clean up for this release. The only reason I wonder is because in the second teaser video on the EW article, there is what appears to be a crisp, cleaned up shot of the original Enterprise.
I'd wait to confirm that before making any formal declarations.According to press reports, it's newly restored audio -- the original mono, which has never been released on home video. The effects will be the originals only.

Yep!Yep. Don't the season Blu-Ray sets proclaim to offer the "original mono," too?
Yeah. I would love to see stuff like that.
