Threshold. I'm still upset about that one. The few unaired episodes on the DVD were sort of leading to some sort of resolution because they knew it was cancelled, but they are still very open-ended and don't answer any questions.

Actually that's not true; they didn't get the cancellation news until they were filming the last episode. So they weren't able to do anything more than tack on a cursory dream/vision sequence on the end where the heroine was told that they would succeed eventually.

Yes, that scene was what I was referencing specifically. It definitely felt weird and didn't really answer things.

I don't see how Threshold could've gone on unless it turned into a post-apocalyptic alien occupation war. After only a few episodes, it was clear the threat was completely out of their grasp with everything the aliens could do.

The idea was to radically change the show every season, including the title - Threshold would become Foothold and then in season three it would become Stranglehold. See more on Wikipedia here.

well that's what happen when they planning for the the next season when Sci-fi cancelled them.

At least we got the Peace Keeper wars to wrap things up.

Guess they didn't show the full series in the U.S but Australia did - they made a final episode that made a definite final.

Earth 2, Carnivale, Jericho, Jeremiah and Firefly for me. Four of them had finales of sorts; Carnivale's would have worked better but for the final scene. There were strands left either way, but they essentially closed one off only to reopen it with the final scene. Jericho had an end, kind of, but again, left the biggest strand, the civil war, up in the air. Jeremiah, had an open-ended ending, which satisfied on a certain level, but again, left strands unresolved. Firefly, had Serenity obviously, but personally, as much as I loved the movie, I think it would have played out better on the smaller screen across a number of seasons.

The only one I watched was Invasion, although I don't know why I persevered since it took a blue age to get anywhere.
