Unreal Trek...

So, inspired by work Donny is doing on TOS Enterprise (in Fan Art) and brainbox here on Voyager interior, thought I'd mess about with Unreal UDK to see how easy to import characters, meshes, etc, to see if playable game possible.

This will be a learning curve/WIP re: lighting, gameplay, NPCs, etc. But just for lulz here's an old Janeway mesh imported into a DS9 Ops I knocked up in 3ds Max.

When I get time to try out new things and if positive results, I'll post more updates.

Primarily experimenting with Kismet and Matinee (for door and actor triggers) and flipbook textures for animation.

The above video is unwatchable....says it's marked "private"

Glad to see more people working with Unreal for Trek environments / games! I would definitely use UDK to learn the basics, then make the move to Unreal 4 once you get the hang of it, and are willing to pay the $20 a month to use it.
