Undiscovered Country teaser trailer

this is my favorite teaser from trek. it tells nothing, but you know it's coming in a theater near you soon. with Horner's soundtrack in the background, it's perfect. you don't see that often these days. that's a shame !

Well, no, they don't, because there are people who were born after that commercial last aired who are now eligible to serve in the House of Representatives.

Old timers like me love the TMP trailer with the late, great Orson Welles narrarating. He's still the only person I've ever heard who pronounces "Uhura" the way it probably is supposed to be pronounced.

I always liked "Doctor Leonard 'Bones' McCoy." You could hear the quotation marks!

Oh, not hardly. I love Citizen Kane, and vigorously defended Touch of Evil in a recent thread (someone was bitching about Charlton Heston playing a Mexican). I just enjoy poking fun of some of the more commercial (pun intended) work Welles did later in life.

Is it just me, or is this not pretty much the best Trek trailer ever? And it has absolutely zero footage from the movie it's advertising. :)

Star Trek VI is my favourite Trek film, but I find that trailer a tad pretentious.

I thought it was too. I ended up rolling my eyes watching it, and I really love TOS. I am looking forward to checking out the second trailer though when I get home.

Edit: I really liked the second one better! I do understand though the first one was just a teaser.

I didn't know that was Orson Welles! I had always through that it was Christopher Plummer doing the narration. It sounds just like him!

Orson Welles did TMP; Christopher Plummer did the ST VI teaser.

Welles died in October 1985.

I remember that second Undiscovered Counrty trailer, very exciting but leaves little to the imagination. Back in the day, I taped it off the TV and watched it a bunch of times in anticipation of the films release. That's probably why when I actualy went to see it, I felt like I had seen it already; Many times. good movie though, not the greatest, but I didn't mind feeling like I was sitting through it again.

Was this one actual played in theaters? I remember it being in front of the VHS release of the I-V filmes...the ones where the spines formed a pic of the Enterprise. I had the boxed set. When VI came out on video it followed the same color scheme.
