One of my favorite bands, still have the CD. I love her voice and how can you go wrong with a band with 5 drummers, a keyboardist and a guy on a harmonica. While everyone may know Breakaway, my favorite song is Devil Song. They also had a songs used in Young Eienstein, can't remember which ones.

Serenity, the continuation movie of the firefly series was pretty good as it explained how the Reavers came to be. i just re watched it recently and the background story of the war between the Alliance and Independents seemed to remind me of the American Civil War. And there is a "don't trust the government" vibe about the whole movie. I particularly enjoyed Chiwetel Ejiofor playing as the extremely loyal, methodical, calm and yet ruthless Alliance Operative. He played a very interesting villain.

If they ever get up the gumption to cast a black actor as James Bond, I so what it to be Chiwetel Ejiofor.
I have the cd BONK. Ironic-I thought I was the only person on Earth outside the band who'd even noticed them.
I have to say, I think Jaws 2 is rather underrated. Sure, it's a small step down from the first film, but it's still good to watch.

It's a shame their work together didn't catch on. I'd love to find their 1990 album, 'You Lucky People'.
Well if we're talking about underrated movies with songs by cult bands, Something Wild with Jeff Daniels and Melanie Griffith and Oingo Boingo.

As I mentioned Popeye earlier, I'm also a big fan of World's Greatest Dad with Robin Williams. All the marketing completely misrepresented the movie and I hardly know anyone who saw it. They made it look like a typical feel good father son comedy, when it's one of the bleakest, funniest dark comedies of the last decade. More people need to see it.
Waterworld with Kevin Costner. The media panned it before it was even screened. It was a fine movie with an interesting premise.
Other underrated movies:
Three O'clock High - a look at high school society in the 80's. A comedy with less emphasis on gags and more on the social structure.
Religulous - Perhaps Maher was toio big for this film, because any film that asks these tough questions deserves to be seen. I personally like Maher for most of it, but I can understand why people wouldn't. It's bashed not for its content because of Maher's style.
Transformers (2007) - What the Avengers was to comic book fans this film did for Transformers fans. There's enough touches of personality from the old days, plus an awesome city brawl at the end. Avengers used a similar format, to be sure.
Rocky V - One of the most hated films, but I liove the idea of Rocky training someone and that means more to him at the moment than bonding with his own son. I loved the detail that commentators say that Gunn fights in the same style as Rocky. Liked the real fight at the end. Masterpiece? no. But far better than it's given credit for. I respect any film that gives its story a game try.
M:I 3: - I liked it. In particular the female agent (who dies early on) kicked some major ass while still being convincing vulnerable in the early action scene.
Cyborg - I guess I just like Van Damm's female tag-along!

Rocky V I can totally support that as an underrated.
Does Transformers count? I know it has it's group who claim not be able to make out the bots while fighting but overall I've always gotten a larger sense of acceptance from that film.

I agree on Rocky V. I love the over the top George Washington Duke character and the end credits with measure of a man playing was perfect.
For that matter, I think Rambo III is entertaining enough as a cheesy action movie, if obviously the dumbest in the series. I always like the "F*ck 'em" line at the end, and the cool fight between Rambo and the big Russian commando. It's not good drama like the first or as well crafted as the second film, but I have fun when I watch it.
I don't know if I would consider Religulous underrated or not, it's subject matter is going to earn it criticism automatically from some circles. I agree that Bill Maher's personality and style isn't for everybody. I love the film though, and point to it a lot when people ask about my own atheism.
