I like most of the movies on this list so far. 12 Monkeys and The Prestige are two of my all time favorites!
How about In the Mouth of Madness. Freaky movie, totally effed up in some scenes. I always liked this movie and Sam Neill is awesome.
Is Memento underrated? I love this flick too!
I would have tweaked either the script or the design of the super-advanced robots in such a way that the audience understood that they were NOT aliens. I believe that common misunderstanding hurt the movie quite a bit. Other then that, I loved the film, including the ending. If we mean "underrated" in the sense of being known but not being regarded as well as it should, I'll go with A.I. It got a pretty mixed reaction from SF fans, but I think it was fantastic. Everyone seems to hate the ending, but I don't think the ending was that bad. I like having the flashforward there, though I probably would have tweaked the details of what happened somewhat.
Yeah, Sky Captain was so visually impressive, especially when you look at how it got made!
You should really watch the bonus features on that disc.

Yeah, the behind the scenes story is just as impressive and inspiring as the actual movie.

Is this movie out on BLUERAY yet? Because I really liked it. Kind of reminded me of DC's BLACKHAWKS comic book stories..

I don't think Sky Captain's underrated. The leads don't have any chemistry, and Paltrow looks lost on all the greenscreen sets...and the filmmakers are just too damned busy filling the movie with homages. That, and often the virtual lenses don't match the lens they shot the live action with, resulting in some visual weirdness.Yeah, Sky Captain was so visually impressive, especially when you look at how it got made!

The Rocketeer
I'm going to with the movie "Monolith Monsters". It's fairly obscure, B-movie, shot in black and white, which seems to be the kiss of death for so many people today
