Ummm...What happened to THE CAGE? (TOSR)

Someone made some vague reference to it and there being a problem, and it dawned on me that it was supposed to have aired recently, but I couldn't remember it being on.

I checked the year two schedule at trekmovie.com, and oddly enough it's gone from the list.

Was there some big discussion about this here on the boards that I somehow missed?

Was anything said by CBS or at the movie website about THE CAGE being taken off the schedule?

Yes. A few weeks ago, someone explained a Year Three of CGI-enhanced episodes has now been scheduled but, as all the other eps will have already aired across the first two years, this Year Three will feature only one new episode, "The Cage", with the rest made up of selected reruns.

"The Cage", when it was first added to the old syndication package in 1990, had to be trimmed back more than other episodes to make it fit the timeslot. Supposedly, there was a concern that running the CGI "The Cage" would mean too much would be cut out. Perhaps it will be run in a longer timeslot next year.

Thank you Therin. Truly appreciate the information. Good to know I didn't somehow miss it, and also that there's a chance they'll repeat the two episodes that my local station messed up on.

As for ST I, it's the booth AND an agonizer for you. I have the episodes on my DVR and CAGE isn't among them, nor is it on the schedule, as mentioned.

The remastered "The Cage" does exist, though, doesn't it? It will show up on the DVD set of the third season remastered?

As mentioned elsewhere, it's been said CBS is planning to offer the TV stations a third year of the remastered episodes. It'll be mostly ones that have already aired, with only one being a never-seen one...

Yep. "The Cage" should be seen during the third year...IF your local station decides to carry the show again this coming season.
