Uhura trailer released

I am not really feeling it. the clip gave me too much teeny booper vibe we see on the CW.

Ah, the falls of Kurtzman star trek and his obsession to make trek look cool.

What about it was “teeny bopper,” exactly? Nothing about it felt particularly “CW,” or teenager-y to me.

‪‪I could see comparing this teaser to promotion for a Marvel property, as it was sort of quippy, with Uhura’s “37,” in response to Pike asking if it were true she knew 12 languages, and her comment about how instantaneous translation wasn’t “how linguistics works.”

It did seem like the trailer was meant to be fun, and have a high energy to it, though ‪‪I don’t really see how it’s in any way a failure to try to make a property seem cool.

It’s just a fast-cut trailer so I’ll take it with a pinch of salt but, overall, I like it — and it’s so good to see Mount back as Pike. He really is becoming my favorite captain.

Good to see Uhura wearing the standard top and black pants as well as the mini-dress.

I saw Uhura as a cadet more in surprise awe of running into to Spock in that clip.

Perhaps it's the first time they meet onboard the Enterprise?

Between this, and some of the stuff coming out of the PIC art department, I am wondering if they're not building up to something else for her...?

Hopefully we get a T'Pring trailer with her going, "Babe, you gotta do something about those sideburns."

Spock Meets T'Pring SNW scene aboard the Enterprise:

T'Pring: "About your sideburns..."

Spock: "It's known as the 'Legend' style cut."

T'Pring: (Thinking to herself): "I'm am not sure I want to be the consort of a 'Legend'...I will need to meditate on this further..."
(To Spock): "I see. I expect the next time we meet will be at our Pon Farr ceremony. It was agreeable to see you."

Spock: "It was agreeable to see you too...Live Long and Prosper."
;)

I wonder what causes the Enterprise crew to be scattered to the four winds between Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2 and the pilot episode of SNW.

Love the character trailers for how much of the show they give us (sets, props, models, vfx). They're not great at introducing the characters so far though.

Really wonder why they didn't start with one, big trailer for the show and then do separate character spotlights after.

Because, so far, the "main" trailer for SNW was basically just a trailer for Anson Mounts fantastic winter beard.
