Re: Uhura - A message from Harrison & first look at Klingon with no he

Trek has always indulged in a casual kind of racial stereotyping with its aliens. Early on I think it was a matter of being able to afford only a few makeup and costuming cues to indicate difference from human beings. Over time, as the Franchise gave up all pretense of treating alien species as other than representing human national/ethnic differences the whole "they all look alike/dress alike/act alike" thing got really annoying.
Helloooo, Tumblr!... headcanon accepted.
First bald Romulans, now bald Klingons!
Starting canonically with ENT
Great post which shows that all the varities of Klingons do not actually differ that much. With what we've seen before, I see nothing wrong with JJ's interpretation of Klingons. Creative liberty aside, JJ has stayed true to what defines Klingons in the fans eyes.

I think that nuKlingon differs a lot from the others. From TMP onwards all the Klingons were easily recognizable as Klingons, but this one could be just some random alien. Aside from the Klingon logo he's wearing, there is nothing Klingon about him. Even the helmets looked more Klingon!
