We really didn't get many starships in the films that weren't Kelvin kitbashes, so I am making some new ones. This is my own design, U.S.S. Tyson. Built after the 1701, but before the 1701-A. The bottom isn't really detailed because it will not be seen in my project.
Ohh, very cool design, fits in nicely in between the two Enterprises, and it's uniquely "Kelvinverse" with its organic shaped hull.
Utterly and stunningly beautiful work. I'm a registry number purist, so I can't buy the "after 1701" part, sorry
Only if you beleive that the numbers are issued sequentially and not in reserved blocks based on class/type.
The real truth of the manner is the registry numbers don't follow any sort of logic in Star Trek, so I'm not even going to try.
I doubt pure sequential registries exist (other than the original Connies), but earlier number = older ship I would buy. Star Trek didn't seem to adhere to reserved number blocks either. This beauty could be 1858 and still look close enough in style to the 1701 of her era and universe.
Gotta say, I love me some Kelvin era design styles and am always glad to see more, in any form (offical or fan rendered) - and this is an exemplary iteration of that style (IMO).
I wish we knew more about the background ships they made for the dry dock build scene in Beyond. This one looks like it could easily have been one of those.
DOWNLOAD - U.S.S. TYSON (Kelvin Timeline) Well, I went ahead and fully detailed the top and the bottom. I couldn't just leave it sort of finished, I had to take it all the way. You may get a missing texture map warning, just ignore it. For materials to work properly, Diffuse maps should be read in as 2.2 gamma. All Roughness materials should be read in as 1.0 gamma. This will ensure proper rendering using PBR shaders. It should render properly for most shots as it is, but all geometry is subdivideible if you need more mesh resolution.
