Typhon Pact Mini-series

Nice to see DMack is going to ain in the clean up of the mess he made in Treklit. (I do however think it was a needed mess.)
What on Earth makes you think he's going to clean it up? He'll probably boil the Breen world to extinction, by accident of course. (BTW, I believe Breen is Norwegian for glacier)

Well, with a title like "Zero Sum Game", someone's getting fucked.

Thanks for the info on the dates of the books. I'm very much looking forward to these, the wait is going to kill me! I'm particularly looking forward to the Aventine focused book, my favourite ship from the novels.

Knowing Ezri Dax, she'll have some interesting ideas on making sure everyone enjoys the sequelae of whatever happens in "Zero Sum Game". I don't think she or her symbiont have ever believed in the concept implied in the title.

Between that and an exploration of the Breen - something we never got to see on TV or in the movie theatres - this one should be worth more than a few hours and the cost of the book. Looking forward to it.

There's gonna be an Aventine book by David Mack? Cool!

The development of Ezri Dax into a real grownup in the novels has made for compelling reading. We haven't often had the chance to see a character mature in this way.

Yeppers--that's our girl!

I wonder...did she ever take the Kobayashi Maru?

Here's a bet that she changed the conditions of the test--without reprograming the simulator....;)

Ezri Dax wouldn't have reason to take the Kobayashi Maru, since it would have been Cadet Ezri Tigan at that time.

Now, Jadzia Dax, on the other hand, is another story.

True, all of that re: Ezri Tigan's and Jadzia Dax's respective Academy experiences.

Once Ezri Dax decided to switch from Counselling to Command-track, though?

Actually, I don't believe Jadzia joined with Dax until after her Academy days, either.

Yeah, Memory-Alpha agrees with you:
Prior to her joining, Jadzia attended Starfleet Academy and applied to the Trill Symbiosis Commission for joining after graduation. While at the Academy, she gained degrees in astrophysics, exoarchaeology, exobiology, and zoology. (DS9: "Playing God")

Enjoys the *what*?

Sequelae. Plural of sequel. Usually used these days in a medical context re: consequences of previous injuries, but it's a word that can be used more generally as well.
Nope, according to every online dictionary I could find, including dictionary.com, sequelae is entirely defined as a word used in pathology as a "pathological condition resulting from a previous disease." For the rest of us, we use sequels as a plural of sequel.

Could've sworn I'd seen it used in a more general "consequences"-type context in some book or other, once upon a time. On a hunch, I'd be willing to blame the late and honoured Leslie Charteris, but then I've been re-reading his Saint novels and collections a fair bit of late.

Yes, I've seen "sequelae" used to mean aftereffects, consequences, subsequent events. Dictionaries don't always list metaphorical or vernacular uses of a word.

It is not, however, the plural of "sequel." It's the plural of "sequela," a closely related word with a different meaning. The plural of "sequel" is "sequels."
