I think Tyler Petty will surprise people. Yeah, while he often plays a comedic character, I believe he'll do fine as Alex Cross myself.
My initial reaction watching that is a simple "wtf"
Between Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox, I do believe we have the wussiest hero/villain combo ever. Trailer is laugh out loud funny.
PS: Idris Elba needs a vehicle. The man should be a movie star.

The trailer is awful and surprise, surprise, so is Tyler Perry. I can't imagine sitting for two hours watching his horrible acting. And Matthew Fox as the villain? I guess they forgot how terrible he was at that in Vantage Point.
I agree Idris Elba needs a vehicle. I love everything he's done and I still think it's a damn pity was passed over for this role, although it might be a blessing in disguise if this movie is as bad as it looks.

Ok, my slight dyslexia made me initially read this thinking that Matthew Perry was the villain. Now he would make a horrible bad guy.

From the looks of this trailer, Matthew Perry as the villain might have been an improvement.
Agreed. I'd actually be somewhat interested if Perry was the villain.
Yeah, I kind of hoped that they would have taken this one more to the direction of Kiss the Girls,
more of an psychological thriller than an action movie.
But I guess the audience in 2012 cant watch anything without things blowing up.

Sure, why not? Kiss the Girls was fairly intelligent (but then it's been years since I've seen it).
Maybe some of his earlier novels were better, but every time I try to read James Patterson, I want to cut my eyes with razor blades.
Ah, well, I've never bothered with the books. I've only seen the movies.
