And this is the first I've seen Quinto (I never saw Heros) and I think he's great as Spock.

Kirk hitting on Uhura didn't make me think of Kirk when he was young, but Denny Crane when he was young lol.

are you sure they say uhura. at one it was said they were working in a mention of leila kalomi the girl from this side of paradise who we find out spock had been carrying a flame for

The McCoy clip was great, the Kirk/Uhura clip was almost cringe-worthy.

I can give them Kirk acting like that at that age, but something about Uhura seemed odd. That whole "sex with barn animals" line doesn't sit too right with me.

I like all of this. It's unusual, takes some getting used to, but I like Pine and Urban. Saldana plays Uhura as more of the sassy type, which is different, but okay from what I see.

But I have to say: What already drives me nuts is that in each and every one of those three new scenes here, there is one of these supposedly slick-looking but just fucking distracting artificial lens flares they have in every other music video these days! WTF?

yeah, I would think Uhura is better than making low brow jokes like that, maybe she needs to mature a bit as well

I noticed this too, it seems to be when there are bright lights in the scene, they like to use the lens flare effect. It is a visual style that if overused can be quite ugly, and they maybe are overusing it a bit in this movie. I suppose they are trying to give it a shiny look, but I think lens flares can be overused.
