TWO More Seasons of Smallville (At Least)

I've begun to think that Welling is keeping on with Smallville because he isn't interested in pursuing much of an acting career after this. Or maybe he's already tried getting some other high profile roles and hasn't been getting many great offers. Maybe it's due to a lack of acting range, typecasting, or a combination thereof.

So maybe he's come to the conclusion that Smallville is his best shot at fame and (most of all) fortune. I think he's pursuing a future in directing, more than anything, as he's already done four Smallville episodes.

It's the Superman curse. Take that role and you are literally known only for that. Where is Brandon Routh anyways?

In 2033, however, it becomes much less messy. In 2033 Superman and Superboy both enter into the public domain.

2033 will never come. Disney will undoubtedly once again coerce Congress into moving the bar to 2043...then 2053...then 2063...etc.

Copyrights were not meant to last into perpetuity, but that's just what is happening because no one is stopping it.

Just because he is signed on means nothing. They moved the show to Friday Night deathslot. You always want to have the main characters signed longer than you want.

Most, if not all the Stargate SG-1 people were signed on for another season, that's how they destroyed Sam on Atlantis.

Oh goody! Two more season of superman being not superman and him and Lois pining for each other, but never crossing the line to a full relationship.

^Once more: just because an actor signed a contract for two more seasons doesn't mean there will be two more seasons. Ratings, not contracts, determine whether a show gets renewed.

They moved it to Fridays. The show is done. I think Welling should salvage what good will he has left with the fans by wearing some glasses and getting the freakin' suit! What does he have lose?

I hope it gets one more season that's at least as good as the one just ended and that brings it to a satisfying conclusion.
